4. the "taking music down" without any recourse AND withholding funds is something that I am not ok with. Say someone did get caught and their music was removed from a DSP. The DSP withholds payment to the distributor and keeps that money. I have a problem with that. 1. they can take down music at will, without prior communication. That's not a good look. 2. because I don't have a say or can't speak to anyone about the issue, I am now at a loss and have to find a new home to reupload the music... meanwhile, the DSP GOT PAID ALREADY. They are keeping the money from the artist but they should also return the money back to the advertiser. THEY DON'T! So as a cost cutting agenda, monthly some rogue employee could just go through catalog and deem it "fraudulent" and they get to keep the money! What if that employee's bonus is tied to how many songs they can snatch from the distroverse today? This is a real issue. We're talking about what affects it has on the artist, but we are also assuming that the artist had anything to do with it, lol. But in the end, they are the person/s that everyone is looking at and giving bad press to/for all while the DSP is continuing to line their pockets with "false claims".
These platforms are already extorting artists, there’s nothing to be happy about, cause now these platforms will pick and choose who is guilty or not, we are just putting more power in their hands

5. this is an important part and it's very vital. The entire industry uses bots. Labels, distributors and artist. It's all over. The key is not THAT they are using them, the most important factor is HOW they are using them. Labels and distros use them to kickstart campaigns. After that, the organic traffic kicks in and then you can taper off. You may start with 100% bots but that will dwindle down to 10% or less based on the organic movement. Artist do the dumbest shit and actually use the damn bots AS their campaign. Any and all movement is just inorganic movements that make zero sense. Ok fellas, Let me give you some behind the curtain information from the bot world. From someone who used to provide these services for the industry for over a decade I have more direct knowledge on how this stuff works than most...and I am not ashamed to admit it. I will break this down into individual comments just in case there is a rebuttal on each point. 1. When you say names of artist, as used in this video, "justin Beiber or Meg the Stallion" and such, I can guarantee you that THEY had nothing to do with it. Let's be logical. These artist have a minority stake in the music and publishing rights. Let's just say 30% or less. Them adding any streams to their content doesnt directly benefit them AT ALL. Those streams you were talking about were/may have been coming from someone that either someone at the label contracted (Viral/marketing department) or the distributor. To give these artist that much credit and/or that much blame isn't accurate, especially if they don't own the label, lol. In most case, artist don't know.

So? It's called marketing. How can I evaluate the value of a product with no audience to showcase it to? Based on your logic, do the companies that pay Google to run ads on your videos skip the line and bbl themselves in front of your audience with their product?
