I'm from Kentucky, one day I'm going to move here. It's so perfect, beautiful landscape and the people seem nice. It's my dream to move to Maine, not sure why? Maybe because it's out of the way of all other states. But anyways thanks for the video and god bless Maine.

Yay! Portland and Charles Osgood together! I've grown up in Portland and now am raising my own daughter here. I can't imagine living anywhere else. Certainly not somewhere inland.

Touche. All I was referring to are the things that I miss from home. I was born in Brooklyn, NY. I grew up an hour from Manhattan and an hour and 15 minutes from Philadelphia on the Jersey shore. So its been an adjustment living in Maine. I'm used to a much faster pace of life and a lot more people.

Now, these sound like healthy states of minds, I enjoy hearing positive things said about Maine, especially the areas I frequent. I'm a spoiled CA gal, but have learned to enjoy the beauty of this Gorgeous place, it has taught me so much, I am also of the kind of mind that is intuitive, and tries to learn and adapt. I know now, that to find peace, I need to be in peace with all, which 1st begins with myself. Meditating is easy here, I love Maine, it is my 'Safe Haven' Happy Spring!

Maines biggest airport is in Bangor. Bangor International airport. There is also one in Portland and little tiny ones around the state. Waterville, Pittsfield, Augusta, and Trenton to name a few.

I've lived here for ten years, and while it's not very diverse, I don't think it's intolerant towards black people. Some folks don't like the somali's who come here because they feel they are leeching off the system, but you never hear of any hate crimes or anything. I live in Portland, and it's probably the most diverse city in the state. Most people are really nice.

This city looks like a sleeping giant of potential. Especially as a tourist attraction. Beautiful images.
I drove through Portland on my way to Acadia National Park one summer with a friend from Dallas where I'm from. I remember passing through the city and being a bit enchanted by the scenery. All the water and islands. It was amazing. I wondered why it didn't have a bigger profile. And the accents were great! A couple of times I couldn't understand what some locals were saying to me.

The video says "more than 150,000 people call the Greater Portland are their home". Greater Portland includes many towns that surround Portland, including South Portland, Westbrook, Scarborough, Cape Elizabeth, and others. While Portland only may have 60,000, Greater Portland has many more.

It isn't technically true that Portland is the largest city north of Boston. the city propper actually has a population of 66,214 as of the 2012 census. if you factor in for the City of South Portland and Biddeford the population goes up. Manchester NH has an estimated population of 110,209 within the city limits.

Portland Maine has an estimated 63,635 residents as of 2003. The Cumberland County Civic Center where the Portland Pirates play can hold over 10% of the population of the city during any home game. Its a cute town, but hardly a city. And err... you can't find a slice of pizza worth eating, decent chinese food or an edible bagel.

You will however find tons of wicked good Thai food, and some of the best beer in the country! Flatbread has good pizza, except it's sorta it's own thing. And it's a city, none of that "cute town" stuff. Go live in the County for a while and then see how small Portland is.

60% of our limited hunting permits are granted to out of state people instead of in state hunters. Out of state people don't know how to drive even remotely in our winters. The Maine Canadian border is the most active border in the United States. We get swarmed by Canadians who always forget that MPH is not the same thing as KPH, and are constantly Bitching because their money isnt worth nearly as much as USD. We have plenty of reasons :P

I don't know about "Stabface", but I lived just outside of Little Rock for 11 years (just moved away this summer) and I can tell you that city is a lot worse than most places in the US, homicide wise. However I can also tell you that it doesn't affect most people. It's all the gang on gang murder. If you stay out of the ghettos you should be fine, which I assume applies to all other violent US cities.
