Coming from five years of university, I totally get the whole working at home thing. It's kind of awesome in a lot of ways, but I eventually started going to a library whenever I wanted to do any of my assignments just so I could have a clear divide between the place where I work and the place where I wind down and relax. Hope it works out for you :3
I'm in a similarish situation to you with the whole working from home thing. I study from home and make videos and I find it SO hard to just switch off when I can see something out the corner of my eye that maybe I feel like I should be doing instead -.-;
BricksPicks Going into this video I was thinking she was possibly going to announce that. And then when she was talking about vague tweets about feelings for five months, I was about ready to shout "I knew it!" while I simultaneously smash my fist through my inconveniently glass desk.
so happy to see a coffeh time vid !!! Just like the good 'ol days. Even if its just an update ;P I love the conversational style of the vids! Always nice to chill after class and watch them. Hope you figure out what you want to do with the channel :D goodluck !
Dodger my heart goes out to you! You are quite honestly one of the most transparent people on the TH-cams, thank you for reaffirming why you are such a fantastic person/entertainer. Keep fighting the good fight. We got yo' back! *fistbump*
You have all my feels! As someone who is currently transitioning from a long distance relationship and getting things sorted out my heart goes out to you. It is a rough ride, I hope everything works out for you.
***** actually I think they call writing, editing self-scripts, then filming, editing, managing technical issues, and otherwise producing video content work. That sounds like work to me.
***** We're not shaming you because you have a different opinion, we're taking the piss out of you because you expressed the opinion in a shitty, toxic fashion that is patently false.
Given your situation, having a designated time and area away from home for work sounds perfect. Back when I was in College, I could only do homework while on campus because, again, the distractions at home sometimes felt too great. Having friends or coworkers to socialize with face to face is a great thing to have. Keep up the good work!
The way I see it is that if you end up hoarding things, think about what you can make with them. For example, if you have a bunch of empty whiskey sample bottles like I do, consider what you could create from them if you melted down all of the glass, or perhaps try and turn sew of those lanyards into a patchwork garment of sorts.
In this case, it has nothing to do with direction or the type of mic. It simply comes down to an inverse-square law. If you're at a distance "x" from a microphone and you double that distance (2x) then you actually decrease the input volume by a factor of 4. If you triple the original distance (3x) then you decrease the input volume by a factor of 9. Dodger just needs to learn proper mic technique. She needs to keep her mouth at an unchanging distance from the microphone. Until she does that, no amount of gain or EQ adjustments will help. Even after setting it up, it would all be made fruitless the moment she squirms or readjusts herself.
Intrafacial86 I know all that, but with some mics that isn't an issue, unless you lean past the mic, obviously. but even if she tilted her head or turned slightly, there was a dramatic difference in sound.
Visas are something that I, as an European who's never been out of Europe (specifically Schengen), I've never thought about this thing.... It's like, "Visas ? What are those ? Oh yeah that I remember when I was a kid."
really did feel a tear building up, just hearing that yous have to go long distance after having that time so close to each other, Ive recently proposed to my girlfriend and i cant stand a day without her but you do get through it knowing they are there and they do love you the world over so all the best for what happens
I totally get the work/home separation issue. Revising for exams at uni in my first year I would always just stay in my room rather than go to the library and it absolutely sucked. I could never fully concentrate on my work but I could also never stop working. You need to be able to go somewhere and dedicate your time to work and then go home and relax without the constant itch to be doing something useful.
with you working from the office will coffee times, when they come back, be done there or will you still do them at home as kind of a day/week/whatever wrap up?
Just listening to you talking for 10 mins really soothes me. I don't really know why... Maybe it's your voice. Also, I totally understand that not fully working but also not fully relaxing thing! It IS an issue, indeed. Anyway, I'm glad that you're holdin up just fine. ♡~♡
Waterflake I said the same thing. I totally missed this and didn't even know, and she's just talking about life! Something about her tone, her style, is just really easy to listen to. I've been seriously lacking on watching vlogs lately, but I saw there was a Coffeh Time out and STOPPED to watch.
Dodger, as someone who's all too familar with long-distance, my heart is with you. My fiancé and I are finally looking to be together this summer. I've been going through the fiancé visa process for a while now and will be having my visa interview in just over 2 weeks. My heart goes out to you because being apart has been one of the hardest things we've had to do. We've been spending the summers living together in the States, but I've been having to go back to Germany to finish my degree. I cannot wait for the day when I hold a green card in my hands and know it's all finally for real and for good. You can do it, and it'll make you stronger and more stubborn.
To all the people on this video and on Strippins video that keep saying they should get married I just want to put this out there thats not how immigration works. I used to think the same thing until 4 or 5 years ago when my girlfriend started working at an immigration law office.
Robert Hitoshura I don't agree that marriage is the best way to get stuff done, but it does work. I was an H2B visa holder for 2 years, and my boyfriend and I decided we wanted to get married. We married, filed the paperwork, and once USCIS sent a Notice of Action (a few weeks later), I was not allowed to leave the US. We filed in like November, and I became a permanent resident in March. It's not a short process, or a cheap one, or even a simple one. But we managed to get it all done without any help from an immigration lawyer, so it's an option.
***** If that's the case, I misunderstood him. I thought he meant that getting married was not a way to get your spouse to stay in the US. A lot of people to think you need to get married and you're automatically a citizen. Those people unfortunately end up trying to get out of deportation. Heck, I did it the right way, and I'm not a citizen, only a green card holder. A conditional one! In two years I need to apply to have the conditions removed... and pay the extra filing fee, of course.
Dodger you'll be alright ^^ I sent one of your old videos to a friend to start watching and I realized you seemed much happier/ carefree back then! I hope you can be more serene with your life again :) Things will be okay!
Nothing makes you value the time you have with your loved ones like knowing you won't be able to see each other for a while. My girlfriend (of 3 and a half years) and I see each other for a week every six months or so. The times apart of rough, but the times together are blissful. So yeah, hang in there Dooger.
I'm really sorry to hear that. This adjustment won't be easy. It's good that you won't be in the house all day. I work from home too and I know exactly what you mean. Never actually 100 percent working or 100 percent relaxed either. Good luck to you. ♥
3:40 - It's like doing homework from school for most people, I'm guessing? There's a million distractions and we try to make progress, but it's not as diligent as we want to be. The tug-of-war is so great, even if you set time to relax, you'll feel guilty for not working. Having a dedicated office can definitely help with that. It helps your brain compartmentalize your home and your work to be separate. :)
Hello Dodger! Thanks for the update! I miss Coffeh Time! I love starting my day with you and your cats! Good luck with everything! I will be here waiting for more Coffeh Time! One of your burritos! :) Keep up the good work! :)
hopefully the visa paperwork will be going smoothly (or at least a bit faster) and you can be together soon again. :) lots of hugs dodger and wish you two the best.
Yo, Dodger! I gotta a question about that mug! I remember seeing it in your store or somewhere, it's like the "Dodger Coffee Company" right? Is it still possible to buy it or maybe get the design for it? My mug collection is lacking :(
Ah, Dooger has once again made my day. I hope to stay near your gremlin heart forever and always. Everything will be just fine, you're both really strong. Btws I like your shirt :-)
I come back to your channel and man I didn't see this coming. See you soon Dexbonus and I hope things will turn out for the both of you and the Coffee Time channel! Happy gaming!
Best of luck with the transition(s). I have all the faith in the world, that you two will make long distance work - you are 'so' good together. I'm definitely going to miss the daily coffeh time, but hey perhaps this means I can actually start to get some work done in the morning rather than just sit on my really comfortable office chair silently giggling at your recent endeavours.
With all the stuff you're going through it's still awesome that you're still uploading at least one video a day so "don't worry about a thing 'cause every little thing is gonna be alright" as a wise man said once Enjoy Hawaii a little longer we'll be okay
changing your workspace is a very good idea!I switched my studying place from home to the university library and holy shit is it 15 times better.I do so much more stuff in way less time
While my husband & I were dating, we were 3 hrs away due to college and could only see each other on weekends. So I kinda understand, & just wanted to say we're here for ya, Dodger. :) *hugs* Hope you all get the visa worked out quickly, so you guys can be back together sooner than a year.
The lanyard thing was pretty funny! I'm starting to have many of them as well. And thanks for the advice, I threw away my toothbrush and floss because they don't give me joy :D Gotta embrace the darkness! (on your teeth)
Most countries you need to leave and apply for the visa from outside of them. Surprised he did not see if he could just slip over the border into Canada for a few days and apply from there to save on airfare.
Don't worry Dodger you will be fine :) you have already done the long distance thing and you both seem level headed and positive in the way you will deal with it. Nevertheless, I am sending positive happy vibes your way and you keep doing what your doing lovely girl!
So much relatable. Working at home is the hardest thing to do, but when I go anywhere else, I get x10 as much done... And the thought, "I can make something out of this!" fills boxes with random stuff, but never really gets used cuz I'm... ya'know, at home. :\
I've missed your gross face! So sorry to hear about the visa issues. I've been on the UK end of that sort of thing, and even when it goes relatively smoothly it's super stressful. Stay strong and be kind to yourself! xx
Hopefully its not too much of a sad transition. Good luck getting everything sorted out. The good thing is you guys can still see each other once in a while by making trips. Also you should raffle some of the stuff you're trying to get rid of but like in mystery prize raffle form.
Aww girl you just need a ginormous hug. Go hug your cats :) also I totally understand the fixing thing, it doesn't matter what the problem is I just want to find a way to make things fit, and when I can't it's so frustrating. But hopefully, things will work out for you
Sorry to hear this. I'm new to the channel but I've watched a few past bids and seen you really happy with him. If you need a work excuse to come to the UK we have a few good conventions. MCM for anime, comics and film, etc and EGX for video games. I hope the Visa situation is settled ASAP.
Im really sorry for the long distance thing :( im currently in a long distance relation aswell and it's quite painful and sad. I wish you both the best!
Also, this distance thing will be what determines if they marry in the future or break up due to distance and living life where they are respectively...#lifeisawindingroad
Sorry you have to go through all of that, i'm sure its not fun. Make the most of it while you can until you can get things worked out, I know ya'll will! :3
Good luck with the whole visa thing, I'm sure you guys will get through it. On the topic of working from home, I've had similar problems with my writing where I just can't focus the story I'm trying to write (I'm an aspiring fantasy author), turns out its not just an internet/games thing :)
As a suggestion from a design standpoint I would like you to still record from your current desk but edit at the office because your current room gives a homey feel and the cats interrupting a stream is almost a Dodger aesthetic, like something that I've come to expect and enjoy from watching your videos.
Just wanted to let you know, you're not alone in the long-distance relationship-ness! Though I'll say the distance I am from my boyfriend isn't as far from the US to the UK, it's sad and can be difficult to experience. I hope things continue to go well for you guys
Yaaaaay a Video from Dodger *.* I miss your coffeetime... it was my time to relax and i want it back :) Sure you can do what ever you want and i wish you all the best, but i miss the good old days ;) Hope to see a few coffetimes in the future :) The Best wishes from germany Patrick

DisturbedKoala I thought this too. but its only becuase i thought jesse made a reference to a possible pregnancy in the last podcast.
I actually like this format of COFFEH time where you update us about whats been going on in like past 1-2 months rather than every day.
so happy to see a coffeh time vid !!! Just like the good 'ol days. Even if its just an update ;P I love the conversational style of the vids! Always nice to chill after class and watch them. Hope you figure out what you want to do with the channel :D goodluck !
You are honestly the most kind hearted person I know... You deserve all of the happiness in the world...
Dodger my heart goes out to you! You are quite honestly one of the most transparent people on the TH-cams, thank you for reaffirming why you are such a fantastic person/entertainer. Keep fighting the good fight. We got yo' back! *fistbump*
The working from home stuff I totally understand. I have struggled with that for years while freelancing webdesign.
Yey coffeh time is back now until forever and always!
Captain Maakasu "That was exactly not the thing I wanted you guiz to think oh you guiz..."
Captain Maakasu LMAO..... well played :D
Hey, just wanted to wish you the best of luck with everything. Been watching your Ceffeh timez forever now. Will be glad to see them coming back soon.
You have all my feels! As someone who is currently transitioning from a long distance relationship and getting things sorted out my heart goes out to you. It is a rough ride, I hope everything works out for you.
Wait ? i tout you stopped working back like years ago to start doing full time TH-cam, why are you working again ?
bryanFDNY TH-cam is my work o___o
Dexbonus Ooh never mind I'm an idiot...
***** actually I think they call writing, editing self-scripts, then filming, editing, managing technical issues, and otherwise producing video content work. That sounds like work to me.

mic is weirdly very directionally sensitive, so it's quiet then loud then quiet again.
Juso Yes, kinda annoying to listen to.
Juso Her pop shield is gone too.

with you working from the office will coffee times, when they come back, be done there or will you still do them at home as kind of a day/week/whatever wrap up?
I hope it all goes well for you two. don't push yourself too hard and remember its ok to give yourself some time
Wow, that advice about immediate feeling of joy is going to help me a LOT cleaning out this warehouse of a room :D

Robert Hitoshura Yup. It costs 6 months and 2 to 4 grand to make the process happen. As for if they're bona fide, there's really no disputing there.
Don't worry Dooger all of us peeps will be here for you!!
Hey! I feel exactly same thing. Always semi-working or semi-relaxing.
Dodger you'll be alright ^^

I'm positive either Dan or Arin also mentioned this hoarding book you speak of.
I hope that everything turns out great!

This video hit me in the feels.
Happy to see another coffe time even though they arent back for real but I've really missed them!
Hello Dodger! Thanks for the update! I miss Coffeh Time! I love starting my day with you and your cats! Good luck with everything! I will be here waiting for more Coffeh Time! One of your burritos! :)

Hang in there Dodge! :3 much love, can't wait for the return of CT!
hopefully the visa paperwork will be going smoothly (or at least a bit faster) and you can be together soon again. :) lots of hugs dodger and wish you two the best.
Yo, Dodger! I gotta a question about that mug! I remember seeing it in your store or somewhere, it's like the "Dodger Coffee Company" right? Is it still possible to buy it or maybe get the design for it?
My mug collection is lacking :(
It both looks and sounds like you need a good hug from your Momma. Sending big 'ol hugs your way!
Sorry to hear about the major disruption in your lives and wish you both the best.
I'm totally on board to see some 'lanyard crafting'.
Ah, Dooger has once again made my day. I hope to stay near your gremlin heart forever and always. Everything will be just fine, you're both really strong. Btws I like your shirt :-)
Me and my girlfriend had to go through a year. Its hard but it is so so worth it. wish you both the best of luck!
Your hair looks so magical rn:3 hope everything works out ok for you with this visa stuff
I come back to your channel and man I didn't see this coming. See you soon Dexbonus and I hope things will turn out for the both of you and the Coffee Time channel! Happy gaming!

Enjoy Hawaii a little longer we'll be okay
Sad Dodger make me sad. :(
Good luck Dodger, I hope things work out...
I also keep lanyards and badges from trade shows. They're sort of trophies of professional life.
"Do you want a gross face?".....Dodger is that even a question!? Haha made me laugh so hard
changing your workspace is a very good idea!I switched my studying place from home to the university library and holy shit is it 15 times better.I do so much more stuff in way less time
While my husband & I were dating, we were 3 hrs away due to college and could only see each other on weekends. So I kinda understand, & just wanted to say we're here for ya, Dodger. :) *hugs* Hope you all get the visa worked out quickly, so you guys can be back together sooner than a year.
Can i ask, is maker studios not an office? Why is that not an option? It seem like the very place you described
The lanyard thing was pretty funny! I'm starting to have many of them as well. And thanks for the advice, I threw away my toothbrush and floss because they don't give me joy :D Gotta embrace the darkness! (on your teeth)
A good option is Canada. Brits and Americans can stay for 6 months at a time leave for a short time and come back for another 6months.
One year for a Visa? I'll be getting my Visa to come to the US in one month only. Any who, I'm glad the show will be coming back soon!!
Most countries you need to leave and apply for the visa from outside of them. Surprised he did not see if he could just slip over the border into Canada for a few days and apply from there to save on airfare.
good luck guys, hope it all gets sorted out!
We'll wait for as long as it takes for you to be ready to jump back into COFFEH❤️❤️❤️❤️
Aaaaaw, you're growing; so cool to see how nicely you have matured in the last year! Your mom and pop must be very proud!
Don't worry Dodger you will be fine :) you have already done the long distance thing and you both seem level headed and positive in the way you will deal with it. Nevertheless, I am sending positive happy vibes your way and you keep doing what your doing lovely girl!
I know the feels. Was it a work visa? I know visas can be difficult for those with internet based incomes.
just realized again how much i missed coffe time :(
I really hope you two get sorted soon.
It's been 2 months, I hope you are doing well! I miss you dodger ♥
The lanyards are memories, like the concert tickets I kept :)
Stay strong and be kind to yourself! xx
I was just thinking that when you put a new update. Because i don't use twitter.
oh gawd ty for this, been waiting so long for it
I know it'll all work out Dodger, so keep being strong and stay awesome :)
Coffeh time❤️ keep faith Doogs, we're here for you :)
Finally I don't have to drink coffee by myself and think about what I'm doing with my life anymore! Missed Ya dooger
Hopefully its not too much of a sad transition. Good luck getting everything sorted out. The good thing is you guys can still see each other once in a while by making trips. Also you should raffle some of the stuff you're trying to get rid of but like in mystery prize raffle form.
The hold things in your hand thing, GameGrumps mentioned it before very recently, cool method !
Promise that you will come back to us!
Aww girl you just need a ginormous hug. Go hug your cats :) also I totally understand the fixing thing, it doesn't matter what the problem is I just want to find a way to make things fit, and when I can't it's so frustrating. But hopefully, things will work out for you
So, are you going to be in the same office building as TOVG, or in the TOVG office?
Wasn't crystal clear to me
Sorry to hear this. I'm new to the channel but I've watched a few past bids and seen you really happy with him.
If you need a work excuse to come to the UK we have a few good conventions. MCM for anime, comics and film, etc and EGX for video games.
I hope the Visa situation is settled ASAP.
😢Best of luck to the both of you!
As someone that doesn't do the Twitters, thanks for the update.
And don't worry about the Coffee time break, we'll hang out :)
Im really sorry for the long distance thing :( im currently in a long distance relation aswell and it's quite painful and sad. I wish you both the best!
Also, this distance thing will be what determines if they marry in the future or break up due to distance and living life where they are respectively...#lifeisawindingroad
we are all here for you in sad times! hold strong captain! :)
Sorry to hear Sam's going back to England! Hope his visa gets sort as soon as possible for you both!!
Coffeh is coming...
And that fantastic because I missed these a lot!
As a suggestion from a design standpoint I would like you to still record from your current desk but edit at the office because your current room gives a homey feel and the cats interrupting a stream is almost a Dodger aesthetic, like something that I've come to expect and enjoy from watching your videos.
i feels for you! me and my wife are going through the same problem at them moment!
Just wanted to let you know, you're not alone in the long-distance relationship-ness! Though I'll say the distance I am from my boyfriend isn't as far from the US to the UK, it's sad and can be difficult to experience. I hope things continue to go well for you guys
Yaaaaay a Video from Dodger *.*
I miss your coffeetime... it was my time to relax and i want it back :)
Sure you can do what ever you want and i wish you all the best, but i miss the good old days ;) Hope to see a few coffetimes in the future :)
The Best wishes from germany
