yk what's so funny, this is fire af btw, but when I played Scribblenauts as a kid I tried to make multiple Maxwells for a mission and when he showed up I remember it genuinely unsettled me. I remember I deleted him when he tried to attack me. I wonder why, with a notebook that lets you make copies of family, superheroes, regular people, and more, why does it not work with Maxwell, man. It's weird.

i never really thought of doppelganger as scary because my first exposure to him was unmasked (which i still think is a great game btw) in which hes kinda just a sorta annoying antag for the game until at the end the solution to his evil was just "hes just like maxwell, the only reason hes lonely is because he doesnt have a sister!" which made me see him as just kind of a cool rival char at best, so this is a new perspective id never thought about, i could imagine just playing by myself and then trying to create another maxwell after being successful with making dupes of other people, and then getting jumpscared by a different entity entirely who immidately tries to kill me. neat.
but it does make you think, that implies that the only difference between maxwell and doppelganger is the fact that maxwell has lily it makes you think that doesnt that imply that maxwell would have been evil without lily which nearly happened in unlimited when she got turned into stone? imagine if maxwell couldnt get all the starrites to free her, and then he turns into just as much of a villain if not more as doppelganger, and it would be entirely their dads fault. god thats a dark thought, sounds like a dope ass idea for a creepypasta, and it would make in universe sense considering the whole reason why doppelganger is evil in the first place
when Edgar and Julie had their 42 children the oldest ones had the least amount of superpowers, i.e the first child, Edwin, is just a normal farmer. But when they had more children the children got more powers, and at the last child, Maxwell, they stopped having kids. This speculates that Maxwell is the most powerful child in the family, because he can create anything. which means a 43rd child in the family cannot technically exist. the notebook tries to create a more powerful Maxwell but fails every time, ending up with Doppelganger, a broken, twisted up version of Maxwell that's pure evil.

This versions really improves a lot from before! The inst definitely sounds way better and clean compared to before, nailing more of the sound that it was trying to give, the lyrics are more hearable which I really like! However I did prefer that voice the effect from before gave, despite being less hearable, it was a sound I really enjoyed for doppelganger. Overall this is really god dang good! I had scribblenauts showdown on my ps4 and one time i remember playing it with my sister once. The the gme suddenly crashed and literally corrupted my ps4. From then i never played it again. I had to go fix my playstation and it literally costed some of my game's data I still have the disc and i think it's still corrupted
I like this one more overall than V1, however I miss how his lyrics felt so blended with the instrumental in V1. Sure it made him a little less understandable but felt more rhythmically chaotic
Idk why but they I feel like they need to make the mechanic you write stuff in the notebook as the doppelgänger does so too at parts you don’t sing to compete with him

honestly this is pretty good, one of the more unique aethos slop but my problem is the drums are just that one amen break on the segment before the drums, it kind of bugs me
I had some sorta idea of a story of this. I kind of think of it like garry's mod. imagine if a npc had a mind of its own. that doppelganger had a mind off it own. knowing it was in a game. decided to corrupted the world into a scribble-nether. the player has no control of anything and suffer's in a nether with the doppelganger. kind of basic story but it's something.
