Your edits and video is excellent. Really enjoyed that. Just a few minor little fact-checks on it: - White Town wasn't just for white people to stay. Lots of Indians stayed there too. All of the Ashram is within the White Town area. And lots of Tamil-French people lived there too, often born from French soldiers who had gotten together with local women. - Bengali is another widely spoken language in Pondy. Because of the Ashram's influence. And generally, Pondicherrians had a pretty relaxed relationship with the French, unlike how the rest of India had with its colonisers, the British. This is perhaps why the nostalgia of the French Era remains sweet, and people here like the French culture (or more like they like the values embodied by the French way of life).

@@WandererJSR My pleasure. Thanks for capturing my town so wonderfully. And actually going around the town in a way that I can deeply connect to, rather than just the tourist spots. By the way, Serenity Beach (we still call it Bodhi beach because there was a cafe there called Bodhi Cafe a long time ago) remains a dear spot for some of us. It's defs not clean or the really cool beach vibe, like you'd get at Eden or Quiet Beach, but it's where we'd hop off to from school for surfing, or just wading into the water, playing volleyball and just whiling away time. But your observations on it are absolutely spot on.
@@manshisingh451 budget could vary depending on how many days you’ll stay there however, let me give you an idea… Chennai to Pondicherry bus shouldn’t cost you more than 500 pp, I think it will be less but just an estimation. You may easily find nice hotels between 1000 inr to 1500 inr per night for 2 adults… once you reach there I suggest you to rent a scooty which won’t take anything more than 500 a day, usually 350 inr per 24 hours basis, so you may bargain… you may go to Auroville as well on the same scooty as it is approx 15 kms from Pondicherry white town… I think you don’t have to spend to much on this trip unless you really want to spend on luxury… I hope now you can calculate easily as per the days you wish to spend there… thank you for watching the video and should you have any more queries you may connect @ Wandererjsr on Instagram or can comment here as well… I wish you guys a happy and joyful journey 🙏
