The crew seemed wonderful. They deserve success in the future.
My friends and I went on Meraviglia in September 2021 and were blown away at the service. This was my 3rd MSC cruise and it was perfect. Funny about the director saying "we will go bankrupt". Just this week, MSC Group surpassed Maersk to be the world's largest shipping company plus they paid over $6 billion to acquire another shipping company. So, while this may be "inconvenient" for them, I think they're doing great!
They knocked it out of the park with the private island.

I worked for MSC in Canada -- its rumored to be a bit of a mafia outfit. Allegedly.
You can’t go broke with money in the bank, so buying another company clears that money out for a few months, until you borrow that same amount from the newly acquired company to get your cash back. Just a little trick I have seen billionaires do.
I firmly believe that giving back" brings huge "good karma."

Trust me nothing is “cheap”. Unless you live pretty frugal and barely eat or do anything. You have to remember you are literally stuck on a floating hotel. You can’t just walk down to the local grocery store and get average priced grocery or have average priced entertainment. They get you on all the food, beverages, entertainment, and most importantly the high priced booze. That’s where things really add up. Liquor is a massive money maker for hotels and cruises. Then when you get off you pay for all the excursions and taxis or whatever is offered. You can be smart of course but trust me they’re not cheap. Just because at surface level it seems like a deal you usually end up spending a ton of money when all is said and done with flights etc… it’s a money machine. They wouldn’t price it at this if they couldn’t be extremely profitable

Went on a Royal Carribean Cruise for 14 days in the Med before Covid and I spent about $100 and that was because I really wanted a massage to see what it was all about.
And I came off about 5kg heavier...definitely plenty of varied food.
I just booked Carnival Panorama. I am traveling alone. Got a Balcony Cabin for $180 for 7 nights. Averaging $25.71/night.
I must keep up. Not even heard of that Carnival ship.

I'm on a five night, $95 Carnival cruise as I type this. That's $19 per night. I've never seen a ship so lightly populated. I'm pretty sure we're sailing half empty.

I went to Disneyland as soon as it reopened after COVID and it was the best Disneyland experience we’ve ever had. Longest line was 5 minutes.
I was on the Meraviglia in November, it is amazing how these companies are managing to stay afloat (no pun intended) it breaks my heart and the ship is gorgeous, Ocean Cay is fantastic and been there twice and have never seen the lighthouse show, what I like is that the ship docks in the island instead of being tender, food is not the greatest but it is good, the people /staff could not have been nicer, and you can't beat the price, too bad you didn't go when they had a balcony sale for the price of an interior room. @Cruisedaily, you did a fantastic job on this video.
cruises are éconological disaster most of them don't pay taxes . I would cherish the day all of this companies go under for good and forever
Went on MSC Divina in October. Probably one of the best cruise experiences I’ve ever had! The ship was practically empty, so it left plenty of room to enjoy the open pools and attractions! Ocean Cay was beautiful, and I had such a great beach day then. MSC provided a great cruise experience!
How much was there to do onboard? Was there a casino and alot of restaurants?
@@Tylorgng. there are plenty of activity’s to do onboard. On deck 14 I believe there is a huge arcade and a racing simulator in vr. Swimming pools, a spa, and lots of live bands. There’s about 5 bars all around. Some being lounges. There’s is 2 restaurants that you are assigned to, and you get the same waiter every night. And there is 2 casinos, both around the atrium.

Beautiful ship, we sailed her in November 2019 my first MSC cruise, and now we are hooked. We just went on the Divina in December 2021 and it was amazing. Our next stop is in April on the Seashore, after that on the Divina again and then the Seascape. We can not get enough of this cruise line. I have been on 12 cruises total so I have experienced other lines. Celebrity being most most favorite. Glad you had a great time. We really we think the food is amazing.
I've been on a total of 19 cruises, from Holland America to to Carnival and a few other lines, my last one in 2008. I'm happy I was able to go before all this craziness started.
I have sailed on freedom of the seas mid January, and there were A LOT OF PEOPLE. And the cruise ship felt old somehow. It was my second cruise in my lifetime and it completely killed the nostalgia. The one very big plus was the staff, everybody from my room attendant to the servers at the diner were extremely professional.
You went on a ship built in 2006… it’s going to feel old. Literally one of the oldest ships in Royal Caribbean’s fleet
I spent a week on the Meraviglia a month ago. There were only 550 onboard and 80 in the Yacht Club. The food, crew, and entertainment were exceptional. The cruise director, Sarah, is a very nice outgoing person. Can't wait to do it again

I went on a three-night Bahamas cruise this past summer, mostly because my son had been disappointed by a promised cruise vacation getting messed up when he was 6, and my realization that 12, the age he was last summer, was the maximum age for him to share a room with the rest of the family, and I wasn't paying double for him to have his own room at 13 or 14! We had a similar experience, of zero crowding and very attentive staff. I tried to tip generously for good service, I felt sorry for the staff, trying to survive such hard times.
My wife and I stumbled on your videos and we both liked them very much. Your videos are well written and edited in clever ways. You are an excellent video producer and video host. You do work to be proud of. Well done! (We both subscribed.)
I sailed on Symphony of the Seas Dec 4 - 11 and let me tell you... I did so much stuff with barely any lines and if they are lines, it is not bad. In all honesty it's amazing to cruise right now 😂
Got to say, RCI are good. I work as a member of general embarkation staff for a number of cruiselines, and honestly, RCI would be my top pick for crusing
I was on the 7 day Jan 9th sailing with 472 passengers and 68 of which were in Yacht Club. This was by far the best cruise I’ve ever been on.

For someone like me with crippling social Anexity where can I find an empty cruise I feel I would actually be able to enjoy myself and not feel like I'm paying so much only to feel Anexity 24/7
Tip for the cameras, if you're shooting on a Canon/Nikon, get a tripod, lower the aperture and do a longer exposure start with 5 seconds and adjust from there. Should only take a few minutes to get a good star shot
My sister and i went on 8 day cruise on carnival freedom in october 2021 and it was $ 25 pp with port fees and taxes it was 323. Which made it $20.19 per might gor each of us. Plus we got 100 on board credit

I was on the Meraviglia for a 4 night last August and there were only 984 passengers…It was Wonderful and I got upgraded to the Yacht club…didn’t pay $26/night though!!! 💙 I’m going to look for some more crazy great deals ASAP!
Hope you enjoyed the Yacht Club; I've heard the food is great there! Also, 984 out of a over 5000 passenger capacity in prime summer season is crazy... 😮 It will definitely be hard for us to adjust to full capacity cruising again... 😂

My husband and I went on a Mediterranean cruise on this same ship back in 2019. I thoroughly enjoyed it although my husband complained about the number of children everywhere. He prefers river cruises but for what we paid, I will go on an ocean cruise w Meraviglia again in the near future.

I just got off a Mariner of the Seas cruise where (somehow) we only had to pay $40 TOTAL for a five day cruise. It was a casino comp room, but port fees and taxes SHOULD have cost more than that. But it didn’t! Yay us!

Given that you had train and air tickets to pay, plus port fees and taxes, taxi to from the port, plus gratuities, a better metric would be to include these in the per-day cost. Taking a 7-day cruise with the same overhead could easily yield a lower actual per-day.
Most of those variables are going to be same for everyone unless you happen to live right next to him

I'm just sitting here like.. you mean normal people, not rich people can actually go on a cruise?!?! I'm honestly very surprised! I've always thought it'd cost an arm and a leg to actually be able to go on a cruise. It's still not possible for us but at least I can watch this video with some hope, so thank you!
At that price you really rocked. Although I don't mind the ship not having as many people but because of the covid but it did seem like there were a lot of older people. The Private island and carnival party was nice. That seemed to be the only time there was sort of a turnup as far as partying. Overall it looked like an enjoyable cruise. Well worth the money.

This truly shows how much the cruise line industry is on life support right now. This ship was obviously planned pre COVID but you gotta believe the investors expected a greater return.
MSC probably the oddball in the cruise industry since they're owned by a massive container shipping company. So they're less likely impacted compared to cruise companies. Sure their cruise division might be in a tight spot, but the company as a whole is in better shape compared to others.
Edit: also MSC as of now is still a private family business IIRC, probably not as concerned about investors an public companies.

Got it beat, $0 for 2, 4 nights Feb 7 2022 out of Cape Canaveral, just got back from a 8 day cruise out of Miami $200 on board credit $250 casino credit (THEY GAVE US CASH! not chips). and we got money back because 2 ports were cancelled.

I saw that ship in Aruba, we docked next to it and the crew on our ship got excited and told me it belonged to Tom Cruise. I found that odd that he would own a ship of that size. I realized what it was when I got home and looked it up. Your video about it was enlightening.

In the UK we rarely hear good things about MSC. When sailing in Europe Italian is the first language and everything is announced in six languages, English last. Food is reported is poor to awful and even water costs extra etc etc. But hey, at $26 per night (not even £20 - about the price of a KFC mega bucket here) how could you not have a great time. I'm guessing your flights and other costs were far more than the cruise itself.
Well why wouldn't Italian be its main language, and why shouldn't English be last. Given its target audience are 🇪🇺 citizens.

If I were you, I would continue cruising if it’s that affordable. Carnival is another cruise line that offers low rates. You will also rack up loyalty points that will lead to becoming a Platinum member quicker.

I cruised when the shit down ended. Was on the first available ship. The captain actually cried greeting us. The ship was so empty! Fast forward to more recently and ships are sailing at 85% capacity.

I do have a question though: as a fellow solo cruiser (and VERY part time vlogger), did you get lonely on the cruise? I've been lucky to find great people to spend time with on my solo cruises but with the ship so empty, was that hard?
Thanks; glad you enjoyed it! 😁 Good question: As MSC (at least for cruises right now) does not charge extra for solo travellers, quite a few solo travellers were onboard this time, which made it easy to meet people!
I wondered that too but then I'd prob prefer the solitude as long as it was a relaxing space with not 100s of kids or grumpy esp.old grumpy ppl around

problem is, You have to factor in the Cost to get there, the Cost of Food and Drinks. Then the Cost of traveling back home. Which that $106 might actually be more around $500 to $750 for entire trip really.

I’ve recently sailed on MSC Orchestra (first ever cruise) 6 nights round the Med and due to sail on Meraviglia in October for a 12 night repositioning cruise Madeira to Florida via the Caribbean.
I loved my MSC experience the ship was fantastic and the staff were amazing. I know MSC get a bit of stick but I honestly can not see why?!
MSC’s prices have opened up cruising as an option for me. I go away 3-4 times a year and I’m definitely a stickler for getting great value.
I had never cruised before because I just couldn’t bare paying several hundred pounds for just a 7 day Caribbean cruise with RC or NCL plus a transatlantic flight when I know how much that same money could get me on a land based holiday in terms of duration and number of trips I could book for the same cost. I also love that MSC’s gratuities are included, hate seeing a price only to have to then add another couple hundred pounds on page 5 of the booking.

My only 2 complaints about msc was food wasn’t seasoned and customer service, but for the price was great, especially ocean cay.

MSC is the Mediterranean Shipping Company. Its Cruise Lines is a small portion of the Company. Its a very Profitable Container Ship Line and it builds its own ships. No chance of bankruptcy.

Do you need a passport?
There were no fees for single occupancy, which was great. As we travelled internationally to the Bahamas, I did have a passport. After looking into it, it might also be possible to travel solely with an enhanced driver's license.

I’ve been planning on setting up a cruise for me and my family here within the next year. With three of us two adults and one teenager. How much money should I have set aside you think for us to be able to have a good time? I don’t want to go crazy on spending but I don’t want to be super cheap.
