It’s funny when Pete would do a live chat during the Players or a big tournament I got a chance to ask him about a couple I’ve played that were ones that he and PB did and he kinda made it seem like PB did a lot of them. They built a couple in Columbia, SC and they have very similar features.
Yea that doesn’t really surprise me about PB. If I taught my kid how to do something I would make them work while I watched or ‘managed’ lol. Also, that’s really cool that you got to talk to him about his work. I personally enjoyed watching the RBC this year and seeing the similarities to a few holes at Prestwick...didn’t really notice it before. Thanks for the comment.
@@SeeGolfPlayGolf yeah it was a random thing they did with Golf.com at the Players in like 2013. I’m a huge nerd for his work because it just is so out there and he definitely had his template holes. They may not always be in sequence but you’re guaranteed to see a Par 3 with water hard up the side with rocks or a bulkhead, a short risk reward Par 4, and a long wraparound par 5 with water.

So true about his templates. I have heard others say they didn’t love Dye courses and I just sort of 🤷🏻♂️ it off. Then I played Prestwick, read about him and went to The Players... now I just think they are stupid for that comment and probably suck at golf lol His work is fantastic. I really want to play more of his tracks soon.
@@SeeGolfPlayGolf absolutely proves that it’s a mental game. He has a course here in Columbia that has a 20-30 foot deep bunker on the right hand side of a green on a Par 5. Very similar to what he did at PGA West. If you see the trouble is right, and you miss right, that’s on you and not him. I did admire him for being one that would go back and continually tinker with the designs. They don’t make them like him anymore.
Hey Seth, thanks for the comment... I typically get to the course super early and start my footage. If I can’t get it all then I will throw the drone up during or after my round. Depending on how busy the course is. ✌️
B2BGolf just found your channel today and the style of your videos is great. I’ve always wanted to do flyovers/reviews but I just never knew how to go about it. Plus I’ve always been afraid to upset the staff at the courses by flying around.

I got/get a lot of No’s... but I just keep asking around. I never fly without checking in with the course and within the FAA regulations.
Ive played it about 5 times one of the better tracks in myrtle highly recommend designed by pete dye need I say more
It really is a well designed track! Pete and PB did a great job. Love all the humps and bumps around the greens.
