nah this anime was pretty well known when it came out and even today. Plus every top 10 list included it for horror/scary along side elfenlied, another when these anime aint even frightening lol . Its actually getting popular again because of some memes with the scene where Fumito shot her in the head, the scene with the class rep who liked her who got shot up trying to save her from the soldiers and the scene with the rabbit monsters eating the entire village
Not related at all but I'm just so damn grateful with my past self that discovered this video because it was because of this that I discovered Starset which became my fav band of all times. Such masterpieces that are all their songs. Thank you so much for this video.

I'm not 🤣 It was a video titled "Brutal anime deaths" that got me to watch this, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Wasn't groundbreaking, but was still captivating. The ending threw me for a loop though!
