Let me see, what went wrong. 1. Tried to get them to play with a deck they never used before, cause only ONE exists. 2. They refused to take advice from the only person in the world who uses the deck, and knows how it works
I kinda agree with Chrono about the team format. I understand that the teams help people connect and it helps with the shows message on friendship, but it is hard to tell who is the best player if every tournament is in a team format.
This is a pretty good episode, starting to actually get the implied team to work together and acknowledge each others existence more. Team Still Unamed's interaction are fun. The voices are okay; now that Bowlcut has more lines, his voice sounds better.
Appreciate the rocky start, should lead to some nice development hopefully and it makes them different to Q4, who despite differences came together quite smoothly. Next weeks ep, the one that catches you off guard and proves you do care about G after all.
To be honest before putting them in that switch game, Kamui should have had them fight using each other's decks that way they could learn the decks playstyle.
Chrono's approach to asking people leaves more than a little to be desired but I would have still said yes if for no other reason to be on the show XD.
I don't hate the voice actor for chrono. I personally think he's the best voice for him but I think he should put more enthusiasm and feeling into his lines
the main problem with this episode is that Kamui is trying to teach them teamwork which great and all but why this level of co-operation? Most likely this tournament is going to be like every other tournament where they never interact with each other except for cheering for each other and many a bus ride over to the place. Unless they have to switch decks or are playing doubles like in season 2 their is no need for them to be this intimate with each other. They just need to learn how to stand being around each other. While I would love for them to bring doubles back but otherwise why should the show focus this much on teamwork when teamwork isn't that important to their games.

yea shion seems to forget that he's not using his royal paladins (that can plus) right now, hence the guarding early part... soo chrono and tokoha were right about his play style
Teammwork is loosely termed. especially in this episode's case. See a team can't be complete without some individuality. One person takes on a role that the others can DEPEND you can fill. yes teamwork can also be working on simple task, but what if it turns into a big project. then you are going to need more than just "working on one simple task." to get the job done. In Vanguard's case, it is just a simple 1v1 but only in a three-person team. each teammate gets their own score from their own terms and tallied with the others. I think tetsu said it correctly when he said, "the team is only good as its weakest link."
They don't even like each other.... I think if they were in a different order the battle could have been more smooth, especially using chrono's super offensive deck.
Thank God it only took one episode for them to become a team. I would hate for them to drag that out. Chrono, Tokoha, and Shion are so argumentative to be friends. Friends shouldn't fight ALL the time.
