Why Fusha (or formal) Arabic? Spoken Arabic comes in many dialects, each beautiful and representative of the cultural plethora that makes the Arab people. Fusha Arabic is utilized in novels, media, literature AND stands as the language of the Quran, the sacred scripture of Islam. Growing up in the US, I (Heba) found it difficult to grasp and understand Fusha Arabic and therefore lacked any engagement with Arabic Children Shows as well as Arabic texts. Understanding the Quran only occurred with an English translation. After having my child, I yearned to give him a novel and unique connection to the Arabic language that I was not afforded. I longed to build a more intimate connection with the messages of the Quran for myself and my son. With this goal, I began to learn Fusha Arabic and adapt it into our home. It is a bridge I continue to build with hopes of unlocking the true essence of the Quran.
👏🏽👏🏽 Repetition, Enunciation, and Dictation 👏🏽👏🏽
Thus came the evolution of this channel. Coming from a background where understanding Fusha Arabic was not seemingly within reach, we are striving to make content appropriate for children growing up in non Arabic speaking countries that is easy to follow. Repetition is used throughout the videos to ensure retention. Enunciation of words and phonetics helps with speech development. And dictating the word allows for our brilliant children to begin reading at an early age!
