Fabulous. This should've been our entry in 2011, but we can always count on the good people of Iceland to make the wrong choice. We manage it almost every year.
Had we chosen this, this would've been the best Icelandic entry ever. A beautiful, soaring ballad and excellent lyrics - far better than the Icelandic ones that might've cost her some chances in the NF. I keep coming back to this, perhaps the single best could've-been in Icelandic Eurovision history.
oooook every time I watch "Is it true" I thing to myself: if Iceland didn't win with this, I'm afraid it will never do. Next thought: Why don't they send Yohanna again? And here I listen to this song now! Why on earth didn't you choose this?? a) it is a beautiful song b)it gives Johanna all what she needs to shine through her great voice and general performance c) just two years after 2009 the Europeans would remember that they owe a win to this girl d) 2011 wasn't even a strong year. I mean look who the fuck won. Plus, it was a ballad winner year. a+b+c+d = Iceland officially wasted its biggest ever opportunity to win!! :/
@@Euroviking86Australia here. Absolutely LOVE Yohanna. I’m just curious - were the people of Iceland stunned that Slow Down didn’t win the national conest? And it didn’t even come 2nd…it came 3rd!! I was lost for words!! 😢
@@jameswalker68 Some people were like "Oh, we've sent her already", as if it's a crime to send the same artist twice and something we haven't done before. To me, it felt like the artists doing well rather than the songs, which is how it can be sometimes.
What were you thinking Iceland, not choosing this. Especially when I saw the oplls before and Yohanna had more of the votes than everyone else put together
David Israel One of the other contestants suddenly died and his friends banded together to sing the song anyway in his honour. The sentimentality swung the vote in their favour. Sucks, I know. This would've been one of our best entries.
There is a new spanish song by a singer named Aitana which reminds me of "Slow down", especially the refrain m.th-cam.com/video/e8vI0pYLcYU/w-d-xo.html
I love this song!
Super

Denmark has done that more often though 😊

it had to be chosen in my opinion. Also, as she was robbed in 09 I think she would have got some more votes. This is a great ballad of a song

We are sadly very good at picking the wrong songs. "Is It True" was one of the few exceptions.
