Well he was lucky for a few reasons:
1.) He was dating Griselda when she was in prison but she still had a vicious streak to her while locked up. She almost had Charles killed
2.) Charles pretty much moonwalked away from super fast from her when she was planning on assassination JFK’s son (JFK, Jr.). Charles wanted NO parts of that. Plus the Feds slowly caught up with him.
