I have a ZTE Axon 7 mini, so the guts were a little bit different, but this video was good enough to get the job done. Saved me the hassle and money of buying a new phone. The battery I bought came with a little toolkit that was all I needed. Thx.

    1. The black glue from top and button can be cleaned from the thin mesh material (not visible on the video/left glued). The are 2 parts of the thin mesh where the front camera is located. I used B7000 Industrial Glue Adhesive 15ml for Mobile Repair. Found on eBay. Not the same since it is transparent but did the job. At the end I applied it around to glue the thin material to the plastic covers except the place where the holes for speakers are located. Then I glued the edges on the phone and pressure plastic covers to the phone.
    2. It is hard to remove the back cover. I pressure the back of the USB connector with thin screwdriver enough to lift the electronics from the back cover. Then i used thin plastic tool to disassemble it completely.
    3. Don't destroy the display ribbon cable located below the battery. Start from the right side where most of the glue is located.
    4. Also I used B7000 to glue the battery to the phone.

Thank You! While I've moved on to a new phone....my Axon 7 is still serving me multiple purposes and has been a good device despite ZTE not updating (not happy with ZTE over this!) You video is good and understandable. Using the computer voice is the best way to go. I understand you are in Spain and others' around the world may not understand a Spanish accent on some words that are not often used. The computer generated voice can be understood through any translation programs. So....those who are whining about the voice on the video are just being drama queens...

ZTE can't update the phone, because the US (Trump) has forbidden American companies to export technology to China. Google makes Android, and ZTE is a Chinese company. Therefore, they lost access to the updates which Google put out. Thanks USA, for duping millions of customers!

Thanks for the video! After ~3 years of usage the battery of my Axon 7 was crapping out at about 20% capacity left (according to Android). Replacement definitely isn't easy but doable.
Got a new battery (original ZTE part), tools and B-7000 glue off of ebay for ~30€ total, hopefully that will be well-invested money to keep it running for another 2-3 years.

I'd like to thank you very much for your video.
Without it, I would never have had the skill, confidence and critical info needed to finally fix the year long battery issue with my phone.
Finally replaced the battery 5 days ago, followed your step by step work, BUT based on advice from a couple of comments here,, I removed the old battery from the other side of your video, I didn't use any liquid dissolver like you did in the video... just a plastic pick and push up hard on the old battery.
I also used the B700 glue to to glue the new battery to the spot the old battery came out of...old glue from old battery was still strong enough to hold the new battery in place but I added some B700 to it to make it stronger.
I put everything back together and it was perfect.
Just wanted to hint that it is way much easier to stick a flat thin steel tool to release the phone back cover from the charging port thin area than on the left or right side of the phone or from the top.....I wasted almost an hour without success trying to release the back cover from the left or right or top side of the phone, until I realized you could stick the flat thin steel tool between the thin back cover over the charging port and the phone.

#@($&%$ - I worked from both sides and later noticed the lcd connector had come undone... turns out I had cut into it with the plastic sheet :( Stay to the buttons side if you can. Someone else below damaged the flat section of the lcd cable on the left side as well. I'm not sure it's worth replacing the lcd now... I should know not to try a repair like this when I'm exhausted.

Well I just did my phone repair and it was a little hairy at times because if you do those connectors wrong you'll bend them and then it won't connect and basically it won't be any good any hour clue I got from this video of buying a good battery Note the 3M sticky stuff on the back where when you're buying a battery there's a lot of them out there I got mine off of eBay but yeah I look for the 3M backing like you see in the video

    • @carolbrooks1948

Most likely the display adapter got loose in the process. It's a flaw in the design that it's not anchored to the motherboard. The same thing happens when I drop the phone on a hard surface. You need to press firmly on the back case of the phone near the on/off button. When you hear a click, it should be back in place. Good luck!

That seems to happen when the battery is faulty or it's not properly plugged in or it somehow got dislodged. Same thing happened to mine after it fell out of my hand and landed very hard on the floor.
Started charging and working again after I took it apart and put it back together.

this video has 2 major flaws, the second one rendered my phone useless after replacing the battery.
    1) at 3:03 do not proceed by removing the battery. first completely remove the ribbon cable at the bottom of the battery (ribbon cable is the "S" black flat cable running over the battery). only one end was removed in this video
    2) under the battery, left side, there is the video display cable. I did not have available liquid to remove glue, so i forced the removal with plastic tools/screwdriver. while pulling away the battery (it is strongly glued) I damaged the video display cable underneath it. You can see the cable I am referring to at 3:54 : it is black with 3 white lines over it and it is under the bronze line with 50E672700760 written on it.
