Highland Park is full of residents who either cannot afford to pay taxes or who expect unending freebies. 20 years ago I was spearheading a class action lawsuit over fraudulent water bills and many of the public who came out stated that water should be free. Well, perhaps so if you want to walk down to the lake or river with buckets to carry home yourself. But processing it and piping it miles to your home costs.
Deadbeat residents resulted in fraudster billing tactics like $10,000.00 water bills. Bad inspired more bad to infinity. The city water reservoir even collapsed several years ago from neglect and the city fire station burned down.
Highland Park will dissolve or disintegrate without any doubt.

Since the late 1960s, the mayor of Highland Park gave free housing to the people who were and currently reside in the city, this was the down fall of Highland Park.

Sad, but this comes when you have a one industry town.

Highland Park used to be so beautiful back in the day now looking at it I feel sad for the current residents. If you really want gentrification this is the city to do it hell you’re by the Detroit Golf Club.
