Modi told you the solution to end the war is not on the battlefield , but in sitting down face to face and talking. Had America and Ukraine respected the legitimate rights and feelings of Russia and kept themselves to their limits without provoking Russia, this Russian-Ukrain war would not have taken place. So to end this war it is mandatory that both America and Ukraine should first repent themselves and come with a clean conscience. Simply blaming Russia or expecting the mediation of India to end this war will never work without that correction from their end.

I am from western europe. Indias ”sitting on the fence” is a huge dissappointment to me. I had high hopes of India as a democracy instinctively turning away from genocidal dictatorships (Putins Russia). Hiding behind ”looking out for Indias interests” is a poor excuse. The same with ”others do it”, as that is a form of whataboutism. This stains India in my mind and signals that India cannot be trusted as a champion for democracy, territorial integrity of nations and a supporter of a global rules based order. It is a terrible look to be hugging a ICC wanted fugitive.

Russia has gone above and beyond for India, giving it nuclear submarine technology. It will build floating nuclear power plants with India, just after it got the technology. This gesture will not be forgotten. The contrast is clear not only was US help refused in all of our wars, the US sent a naval fleet to intimidate us when India was attempting to prevent a genocide in Bangladesh.
Rather than moral lectures which will not have much impact, why doesn't the west provide us with its state-of-the-art military technology? The US would't even share its nuclear submarine technology with France, do you think it will share it with us? Real friends provide tangible, material benefits, not lectures and expressions of virtue signaling and moral outrage.
Righteous hot air will not help us protect our borders, power our economy. Unless it competes with Russia in providing us what we need and to secure our future and realize prosperity, all Europe will get is strongly-worded statements and stronger, deeper collaboration between India and Russia.
