Probably the best boss in the entire game. The music, the culmination of Black's entire character arc, the strong mechanics, and local woman being too angry to die. Black is probably my favorite character in the entire game.
This whole fight is haunting and tragic, to me. Black was a terrible person, but she also suffered immensely in life. She lost everything she ever cared about, lived in constant pain (headaches), and died having it all be for naught. In the end she became a monster - but I think the suffering she went through made her one, on the inside far earlier. I think the fact that held on to sanity for so long, and through all these hideous transformations, seems to really drive home how desperate she was, to not die with it all being for nothing. She may have been a horrible person, but she was an empathetic one, and she fought/struggled so hard … only to die. The music fits it perfectly, and feels like a tempest of anguish, power, and sorrow. Just as Black herself was … before we killed her. Easily the best boss fight in the game.
I think she should've been the final boss as well tbh I have not yet even faced the final boss and finished the game, just because I thought Black's part was a more fitting finale for the game than HIM
@@gumbarius Assuming you've beaten the final boss by now, three years later: In my opinion, the final boss makes it all the more tragic. Because the entire tri religion was a lie. All Black fought for after she ascended into an agent was a lie, making not only hers, but all the deaths in the entire game, for naught. All because the planet they lived on was actually a gas station, their "holy" ivory was just spaceship fuel, and their god was just a space mechanic that wasn't even aware he created a religion.

I was too focused on dodging her attacks that i never realized Royal helps you fight Black.

My best atempt was a 2 hit fight in the hardest difficulty
Also took me long enough to beat it
Most frustrating part was the final phase, which is just a ton of random bullets
