Can you replace the inner case? Apparently i have a hairline crack somewhere in mine and i can't seem to find it yet it leaks out the front of the bottom. I'm not even sure how i could pressure test it to find where the crack is to repair it
I recommend just taking off the front shroud. Put the unit back together with out the shroud. (Inlet, outlet, drain plug, and top prime plug) install and pressure test it that way to get a clearer look as to where it may be leaking. I’ve seen it drip from the pressure tank. Or could be the motor bearing seal.
Just want to add that these pumps are notorious for leaks and not just at the prime plug. I have witnessed the failures many times now. Conveniently warranteed at just 2 years , users are S.O.L. with their failing pumps after that period. A real embarrassment for an otherwise great company.
So your saying it continually runs even when the water discharge side is turned off? Sounds like a bad check valve. Take out the water inlet spring and seal and make sure it is clean and free of debris. Also take out the spring and check valve out if the top prime port make sure it is clean and free of debris.
Excellent video, I was told I would need to replace the whole pump!! You're a star
Excellent video thanks for saving me money.
exactly what I was looking for. Thank you

great video.. can you tell me how old is this pump? is this problem common for this plastic scala grundfoss pumps?
I’ve seen a few of these pumps with this problem, cracking at the prime port due to over tightening, don’t use thread tape or paste.

Do you have a video or guide for changing the bearings?
My pump is an older model Grundfos probably around seven years old. It seems to be leaking from the bottom. It’s losing quite a bit of water.
Take off the shroud to get a better look at where the leak might be coming from. Could be the main shaft seal, but could be a cracked housing.
did you have to recharge the internal tank? how do you do that?
Make sure it’s at 18psi check it at the air valve and fill it with an air compressor at the valve
Grundfos recommends the air charge be 70% of desired working pressure. Its a typical Schrader (tire) fill valve.
I have scala2 not its working even if water discharge water is off??? Working 24 hours!!! How i can repair?
