Sounds like Charlie's father is singing instead of his mother. Isn't Mr. Bucket dead in the movie?

It would have been sweet if both sung here. In the 2005 film, his father is alive, and in the book as well. In the 1971 film, we do not see him ever, but Grandma Josephine said in a line, "only if his father were still alive" in response to how he would feel if he only saw his son won the golden ticket. It is strange, because in the book, 1971 film, and 2005 film, we do see both parents of the other children, with the sole exception of Violet's father in the 2005 film, we do not know if she divorced or if he is merely dead.

@@brandoncolis3841 In the Broadway Musical version, ALL of the kids only have one parent shown. There's also a heavy implication that Augustus's father may be dead... they do the sign of the cross whenever they mention him. In the West End version of the musical, however, we see all of the parents except Veruca's mother. I figure she's just inside the house during the interview, though.

Although, given the time that the film came out, I’m completely willing to bet that Charlie’s dad died fighting in Vietnam.

This is not an original soundtrack album. It’s just other people singing songs from the movie and some songs that aren’t.
