That is a profound observation! When I first drew this card, I thought, 'what a dismal card'! But, my goodness, I as I study it, it is telling me the truth of my situation. It is telling me that I am looking at the wrong things. If I would turn my attention, I could see all the good that I have... a change of perspective is what this card is demanding of me!

I'm sorry the cups were filled with red wine, doesn't matter how much water he's got, it's will replace a nice bottle of red.

Loved the way you explained it. Classical example of the cup somewhat half full and cup somewhat half empty. A matter of perspective. Narrow vision in times of loss.

thank you! I ve found smth new in your explanation. for me it has always been a card of focusing on the negative side of life, psychologically. when the person doesn't see his possibilities and sees only the bad in everything that he faces in his life.

Thank you for you absolute in depth analysis... My son in law passed away, age 38, leaving my daughter, myself and many other loving angels to guide her, her 11 year old son and 5 year old daughter. The is the river to a dominant force to reach our Castle ,but Spirit has lovingly guided each of us and I am by honouring my love so grateful and will always share my beliefs ever so gently when I'm needed ! Thank -You for reading my experience Kyle...Love Lady Dianna

My 3 cups lost are financial loss, COVID to my business & relationship...the 2 upright cups are my daughter and health...so my bridge crossing would be easy with good health and my daughter optimism for our future...my daughter’s reading was on point 😳🥰

Brilliant observations. You helped me a lot to make my own understanding of this card. In my perspective the river symbolises those strong emotions you described. And their intensity. There's a way to get out of this paralysing life situation (he's standing still), by focusing on what's left - or more clearly - what IS. By entering the present moment and staying in it, I may cross over those dangerous deep emotions (depression, grief), and find myself safe in the castle.

The present moment is the key.

Just got my first tarot deck. Did a random reading for myself. This card hit home. Thank you for the very meaningful dive on this card.

TRAUMA. Here is a man who drinks his own sadness. He lost faith in humanity and will return home so that his wounds may heal.

@John-Paul Hunt Kyle said it all. Seeing this card, makes me think of the song "Stolen Heart" (Violet and Daisy Hilton); "You stole the golden sunshine and left the barren sky"...Lift up your heart! The least you can do is try. The fives usually can get help.

Best video on this card I've seen! Thank you. I am wondering, how would you interpret this if it came up in a one card reading and the question was "is the man who left me with someone else"? Curious, thank you for all this hearty information. Subscribed!

i'm no tarot reader, but based on what he said in the video, it seems like the person is focusing on who they've lost (their ex) when they should focus on the people and blessings they still have...so maybe that's an indirect answer...focus on who/what you have and don't worry about him or who he's with

If I ask a question why do I have so much anxiety and this card comes up what it could mean ?

Looking, longing and never getting?.. Today's trouble, perhaps, originates in the past (one's childhood).
