Welcome back to another thrilling ride! Today, we’re exploring the world-class trails of the Blue Derby Mountain Bike Park, nestled in the incredible dales of Derby. This place is a haven for mountain biking enthusiasts, offering luxury accommodations that I highly recommend for your next visit.
In this video, we’re tackling some of the most renowned trails in the world - Trouty, Detonate, and a piece of Cuddles. These trails have been part of the Enduro World Series races, and you’ll soon see why they’re a hot topic among mountain bikers.
For this trip, we’ve partnered with Premium MTB Tours, the best shuttle company available. With private shuttles waiting for you at the bottom of each run, you can take your time and truly enjoy the ride. They’re also the only company permitted to drive through the bike park, meaning they can pick you up from most intersections in Derby.
Our journey begins at Big Pappas, one of the largest trees I’ve ever seen. From there, we head into Atlas, the highest point in Derby. Not long into Atlas, the rain starts pouring down, adding an extra layer of fun to our ride.
We finally arrive at Trouty, a trail that’s been on my must-do list for a long time. Emerging into an open slab, we’re greeted with breathtaking views of Derby. It’s hard to believe such a place exists in Australia.
With Trouty complete, our shuttles are ready to take us up for another run. We head up to the Black Stump drop-off and do a small climb up to Detonate, a double black trail with some wild features.
We then continue across the park down Flickity Sticks, followed by a small climb up to Cuddles, the most recently built trail here at Derby. It boasts two very wild features, both of which I was eager to conquer today.
We finally arrive at the biggest feature I’ve seen on a mountain bike trail. Rather than stopping and getting scared, we just roll straight in. This rock roll is beyond huge in person - it’s a literal four-story wall.
That’s it for today’s video. I highly recommend Premium MTB Tours for your next journey down here in Derby. The private shuttles are clearly the best for shuttling Derby, and getting up to Atlas and Big Pappas is a must-do. Also, do check out Dales of Derby, a place that had everything a mountain biker needs.
As always, leave a like if you enjoyed this video, and subscribe if you’re new. Cheers, legends!

I got a shuttle to Black Stump and then rode out to Big Pappa, it's a pretty good ride with some great views if people have the time to do it :)

No we 100% followed Ted (guy in front, white helmet) in, without stopping and looking at it.
The other boys with us stopped and didn’t do it.
Before this We have just spent the past 2 days at Maydena following Ted so we had full trust in his judgement of our ability.
The full raw will be up in a couple weeks, which shows the trail entirely.

My experience not as good as other places, wet weather of 13 + k decent and blue tier killed my bike / drive train as it was wet and muddy the mud is so bad it sticks and wont let go . small town and amenity ...expensive, its the end of the world.
NZ is better in the we(Rotarua) Tas is Au expensive . what did these shuttles cost? t I stayed out of town which was good and reduced cost. Roxane was a cool trail and the jump line worked too . nice environment but not as good as other parks in the world. very Tas environment with expensive amenity and not the best for the price . its got some unique features granted but i Had better riding in other places. it costs a lot..... sorry Tas costs to much for what it was for me which is a poor person.

Not sure what you refer to by costs a lot ?
It’s half the cost of going to nz, actually it’s 3 times cheaper then flying to nz and riding there 🥴
Seems like you booked incorrectly tbh. Tasmania is a super cheap trip to do and nothing else in Australia beats it for mountain bike riding.
