Dream was so tired of fighting and it was hopeless to save his brother, so he pulled the last Black Apple that he was carrying it and Ate It.
Dream (Before he ate the apple) : "Why..Why..WHY!?..After EVERYTHING I have done trying to save you and trying to keep our promises again and again NOTHING HAPPEND...Hahaha...Haha..This is useless.."
After Dream ate the black apple, Nightmare was walking away until he felt something was different and the aura has change.
Nightmare : "..I felt something different...This aura is strong..It felt like..-"
And Nightmare realized it was The Black Apple..But something was off about it..
Nightmare run and sees "Dream" Different...All black goop, Neon gold and a different Aura...Nightmare was shocked and frightened to see him.
Nightmare : "D-Dream..?"
ShatteredDream : "...Why hello Brother!" "YOU CAME BACK!"
[If ya see the past selfs of them it's like it's happening again.]
