    I finally hit why the show is good. It is dramatic and not melodramatic.
    The relationships are real. People actually talk to each other and the adults act like adults. The kids act like kids.
    Jonathan and Jordan are the best brothers ever.
    Johns motivations make sense even though we know he is wrong.

    Bitsie Tulloch is now my favorite Lois Lane. Erica Durance held that title for years and she's still an incredible Lois, but these writer's are really giving us a fully formed and complex woman that we don't see a lot. And Bitsie is delivering episode after episode. What an incredible performance, same goes for Jordan Elsass here and those two together are magic. The whole cast is incredible and these writer's understand these characters. It's just an absolute joy to watch.

    • @carn9507

      oh yeah I loved Durance but I agree I think Tulloch has become my fave Lois even just for sheer acting ability (not saying Durance was bad, she was great at everything she did. this just a different show and different storylines). As you say, this is a Lois we haven't really had before while staying true to the character and Tulloch is superb in the role.

    In the second conversation Lois has with Jonathan at the end of the episode she tells him she got pregnant when the boys were around 18 months old. Yes, this was another great episode the emotional beats were on point. I would also like take my hat off to Jordan Elsass aka Jonathan. His reactions to being yelled at and dragged by his own mom was priceless. It makes you wonder if this was the first time in his life he has ever done anything to disappoint his mom or have his parents raised voices directed at him.

    The whole episode was solid work by the cast but especially Elizabeth Tulloch. A nice peak into the more vulnerable side of Lois Lane that we often don't get to see much of in other media.
    Also underrated aspect of this episode is how the writers fleshed out Kyle's character a little more. We see he isn't just a jealous jerk, but that he has a genuine soft side to him as he helped encourage Sarah to audition but he definitely is battling some personal demons (like possible alcoholism) that is wreaking havoc on his family.

    One of the things I loved about this episode was the fact it reminds you why the show is called Superman & Lois.
    On a character level, we truly see the human side and complexity of Lois Lane and why she’s such a tough mom/wife.
    Clark/Supes is definitely the alien side of the story but he also is someone who was raised on Jonathan & Martha Kent’s morals. The humanity is what keeps him grounded and to keep pushing. It reminds him of the hope to come. In this factor, I love that Lois is the hope for Clark to be human, even though he isn’t. She’s his universe. He’s her world.
    Perfect slice down the middle for both stories that end up intertwining.
    Elizabeth killed it. No cap. So did Jordan Elsass. The show gets better each episode and I don’t know how. I’ve been so surprised.

  • @kazinadbiralamadit6905
    @kazinadbiralamadit6905 3 ปีที่แล้ว +25

    One more thing that I really love about this episode OMN1MEDIA is that once Tyler's Superman says the name Natalie he doesn’t says it again in front of Lois. He says that he understands where Irons comes from & I think he is referring to the fact both lost their child just at different points in their lives. Irons lost his kid due to Crisis & Tyler's Superman lost his before she was even born. Lois avoided that grief by doing as much work she can but for Superman it is even worse. Because billions look up to him he can't show that vulnerability he knows he has to inspire everyone but he can't necessarily do that while he is mourning. When Lois was reaching her breaking point he said she can tell him anything but at the same time he wouldn't always be there to help her, that she should reach out to someone who could help her.
    This show now has become my favourite live-action Superman show followed closely by Smallville, Lois & Clark with Supergirl & finally Superboy. Superman has been done better by T.V for the past 30 years than movies.

    Heh. Lois shouting at Jonathan and you were looking like she was shouting at you! :) Another fantastic episode and yeah great acting too. Interesting the theory of kryptonian 'souls' is mentioned in the show now too. I'm still curious to know why that black suit Superman, didn't just ally with the kryptonians but actually started killing innocent people too. I just can't imagine 'our' Supes suddenly turning into a mass murderer. If anything he would turn on the kryptonians once they started killing. So something else must have turned him too. Something huge perhaps. And no I never bought into the Injustice Superman turning after being tricked into killing Lois and his unborn kid, if anything I would think he'd feel such guilt he'd exile himself off into space forever rather than become a killer himself and become everything Lois hated (and this black suit Supes never had Lois anyways). Anyways keen to see more. 8 episodes in and all have been great. :D

    Every week I’m like, this show can’t get better & then at the end of each episode I’m like “I was wrong, it got better” Betsy was phenomenal in this episode as Lois, I think what this show does best is it doesn’t put its hero in situations that make him look stupid like you see on the flash, the flash is “the fastest man alive” but how many times have we seen him get hit & look up & the villain is gone... I’m like come on fastest man alive run & find them, dumb but they want Superman in a vulnerable position put him in a krptonite fight, it makes sense. Through 8 episodes they haven’t had a single stumble yet, keep it up 👍🏻

    I'm pretty sure our Earth-Prime Superman is good because he has Lois. In the last episode, when he walks up to John Henry Irons to beat him up, we see the transition between him and evil Superman. And only when Lois said stop, he realized that he doesn't need to beat up John. Lois is his conscience in a way. The evil Superman never had Lois in his life, so that part of him is missing. At least I think that's one of the reason he's evil.
    P.S.: Bietsie and Jordan did an incredible job in this episode!

    This is another episode where I wish the actors for Jonathan, Jordan and Sarah were actually 14 instead of 20.
    Jonathan evoked a lot of emotion, but I think it would have hit even harder if we were looking at a 14 year-old.

      @Haydz Dayz Except, they recognized him as Superman and weren't afraid, implying that he was a hero. In the comics, the only times he turned evil was because of Lois' death. So it's very likely that he was mind controlled or possessed.

      @Haydz Dayz You're trying way too hard to shut down these theories.
      And technically there has been at least one version of Zod that did possess someone. Lex in Smallville. :P

    • @nightwhelmed
      @nightwhelmed 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Haydz Dayz How am I looking too much into it ? There's a Superman who, all of a sudden, goes from good to evil with no apparent reason as to why. And at the same time, the theory of possession/mind control is introduced in the show. We aren't pulling this out of our asses, the idea is right there in the show. Also there has been cases of Kryptonian possession before.

  • @deadhead8323

    I know Sam lane is a prick but think about how much of an advantage they now have in the possibility superman can't fight the kryptonians alone or worse turned. The other earth no one knew supermans weakness until it was too late. This can help them and clark even if he hates it he can at least see the big picture. That's what I like about clarks reaction to this over kara. Kara doesn't see the big picture and necessity of it in the scenario that she's incapacitated earth is in trouble. She only thinks about how it only affects her.
