  • Hey Gorgeous Girlies🌻
In this video, I discuss the PROS and CONS of living in Daegu, South Korea. Since moving to South Korea, there are some amazing things that I love about living in Daegu, however at the same time, there are also a few things that have been difficult whilst living over here too. I hope you enjoy and find it useful!

So basically it’s like uk heat but hotter?
Also, hi hello! I’m glad to have found your channel, I’m looking at EPIK for fall 2023 I believe I’d have to apply in/from February so I’m trying to gather as much information and insight as I can. And as a fellow British pal I’m absolutely loving all your videos from a British perspective, I look forward to seeing more from you. I’m visiting korea end of October for 3 months as a trial to see how I feel about possibly living and working there, but your videos honestly make feel like I will.

Hey Tae! I’m so glad that you’re enjoying the videos😃 The heat can be kind of unbearable at times here in Daegu but honestly, I think you’ll be fine☺️
And super exciting that you’re coming to Korea! I’m sure you’ll love it when you come over here and it will just cement your decision to come in Fall 2023😌 Best of luck!

Hey Alex - thanks for another helpful video! Love how straight to the point you are with your more informative videos. How did you decide what area to put down on your EPIK application? I know it can be more or less a lottery but I'm still stressing about it 😂 I'm so torn as I kind of want the best of both worlds - a city with good night life, lots to see and some form of an expat community but with access to nature and some traditional korean culture. Daegu could be it to be honest though the heat scares me a bit 🤣 How did you do your research before applying? Also as a side note, what level Korean are you if you don't mind me asking? I'm trying to self-study at home but it always ends up on the low end of my priority list and I havn't learnt much yet. I really need to put more effort into it 😭

Hey Pola! Thank you so much - I'm glad you enjoyed the video :)
I chose Daegu (and got Daegu) just out of wanting a slightly more authentic Korean experience. Also, i really wanted a place that was relatively central and easy connections around the country. In terms of the weather, as much as it is very hot (I'm writing this at 8:26am and it's already 30 degrees haha!)...as long as you stay hydrated and carry a fan along with you (everybody does!) you should be fine! And in terms of my Korean level - it's very basic too! As long as you know the key words/expressions you should get by just fine. I tired studying before I came over here too, however, it's so much easier to learn when you're actually over here. I hope you have a wonderful day!

@@itsalexmarkThanks so much! Yeah transport and connections to other citiea are so important. Sorry I sent so many questions at once haha I only realised now that I'd written an essay. I forgot to say I love the nail colour! Have a lovely week ❤

What part of Daegu do you live in? Considering putting Daegu as my preference for EPIK and trying to get to know all areas possible I could be placed :)

Hey Christy! I think putting Daegu as your preference is a great choice as it's the best of both worlds! I live in Dalseong-gu, the most southern region.
