    I can say as a Celtics fan since 1981. I have seen them all. I watched Jordan's entire career. I've seen LeBron his entire career. Guys, just stop. Trust me. I am no Bulls fan. If you actually watched both players during their careers this isn't a debate. Jordan was superior by more than you think. Honestly, LeBron is great. Fantastic. All time great. He's not Jordan. Never was. Never will be. Don't listen to Shannon Sharpe, or Nick Wright.. they have zero credibility.

      Zamppa86 hahaha 😂 zone defense didn’t even existed back than, and all of the nineties defenders are suck so no one could guard mj... mj wouldn’t survive the skill era of the ‘00-‘20

    • @Zamppa86
      @Zamppa86 4 ปีที่แล้ว +132

      Claiming "MJ would not survive the 00-20 era" just proved you know nothing about basketball or simply are way too young to know and understand.
      The era when MJ played, 80s and 90s, was dominated by big men, centers ruled the league. There was physicality and real defense. Smaller players were punished physically when they drove to the paint. Contacts were allowed. Hand checking was allowed. Yet still MJ managed to score the most points and did it efficiently. It was 'unnatural' for a shooting guard to score with above 50 % shooting during that time but MJ did it. His averages also went up during the playoffs but of course he aswell had bad games as he was also just a human. The best basketball player of all time but still human.
      This "skill era" as you call it began around 2003 when less contact was allowed and hand checking became prohobited. NBA did this because they wanted more scoring and highlights to sell more tickets and to get more money. That made it easier for guards to score and harder to defend when less and less contact was allowed.
      MJ averaged 35 ppg and 37 ppg efficiently at the late 80s when contact was allowed much more and hand checking was allowed along with real paint protection. So don't come claiming he would not survive this era :D Several former players have announced that MJ would average 40 ppg during this softer era.
      Your claim has now been totally destroyed.

      That's ludicrous. He played in the era of the bad boys from detroit where they didn't just want to keep you from scoring, they wanted to punish you. Remember the Jordan rules. They put him on the floor virtually every time he drove to the hoop. Today's NBA is a powder puff league where you can't d up like you could back then. Imagine Detroit playing GS. Steph would be on his butt every time he'd try to put up a 3. I doubt he'd be posing for his 3 point shots much after getting hard fouled. Not saying Lebron isn't great, but you are right in that defense back then was so much rougher. And oh yea, Jordan had to play through Isiah Thomas, Barkley, Ewing, Malone, Drexler and the list goes on an on.

    How can anyone say that lebum is better than MJ in rebounds and assists when MJ is a SG therefore distributing the ball is not his role... Its scoring. While in rebounds obviously lebum is a small forward so he should rebound more being the "bigger" player as they say... And assists, lebum should have more coz he holds the ball too much, being his teams point forward. Being the G.O.A.T only has 2 qualities... The player should be great at scoring and at the same be as great in defense... Other stats are there for the other teammates to accomplish. Lebron’s assists numbers are a function of him being the center of the offense. He brings the ball up the court. Jordan didn’t play in that sort of offense under Phil Jackson. When Jordan actually played point guard for the latter half of the 1988-89 season, he put up crazy numbers. He averaged nearly a triple double.

I never felt anything from lebron but me me me its all about me no memories to keep or moments to keep it was all about him and his greed. Its the same old conversation.
    1. MJ
    2. Kobe
    3. LeBron
    LeBron is the best player of this generation. Kobe is the best player of the last generation. MJ before that.
    Jordan and Kobe are the best clutch players ever. LeBron is good but not the best.
    You can’t bring championships into a GOAT argument because Championships are won as a team.
    When you consider Game Winning shots, it took LeBron until his 11th year in the NBA to be considered a clutch closer at the end of games. Jordan and Kobe were closing games early on in their careers.
    LeBron is feared because of his size and power in the paint, whether he be slashing or posting up, he could bully some people and usually got the better outcome.
    Kobe and MJ had to use their shooting and athleticism to go against taller and bigger inside players. Something LeBron doesn’t need to stress in todays NBA.
    LeBron hasn’t been through the turmoil that Kobe and MJ had in their careers with talent and coaching. Probably because LeBron tries to do everything including the coaching.
    All in all. I take it that the points are very obvious. There is still argument to this without factoring in Rings and MVP votes and all that jabber yabber. You cant say the same about LeBrons side of the argument.

    • @KDSRirelandboy1
      @KDSRirelandboy1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      CMcycle The reason I wouldn’t place LeBron above Kobe is because Kobe went through a lot more outside the game than LeBron ever has. And still he delivered night in night out. LeBron can get two more championships and hold the career points lead but he has never been in adversity like Kobe or Jordan. And even if you factor that out, LeBron has never been a consistant
      defender.
      IQ speaking, sure LeBron has the edge. But thats relating to the generation,the tools to obtain knowledge are far easily accessable. But if you look at overall playstyle, Jordan and Kobe had more challenges than LeBron despite generations because of the fact that injuries were far scarier.

    • @CMcycle
      @CMcycle 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@KDSRirelandboy1 I agree that Kobe has gone through more adversity outside the game than LeBron but that just shows how better of a man LeBron is. He's a good father, a family man, helps people and has never had such problems like Kobe had with the rape cause. However, we're talking about the game and we should not blame LeBron for being a good man but if you are saying that LeBron becoming the number one on the all time scoring list and win 2 more championships than Kobe will not warrant him to surpass Kobe then I don't know what will. Until then I would pick Kobe over LeBron.

Plays in a softer era of Basketball (where they apparently also ignore traveling) The guy is a Talent vampire, took players away from their teams to play with him for ridiculous amounts of money so he can have an easier time getting to championships and yet still loses more than he's won with super teams built for him for all except for his first one which he lost btw. The real reason really lies in the first minute of the video. Back then, things were different, or more specifically, much harder. Tougher defense, more aggressive and no easy baskets as of today. It’s more of a show today’s NBA where it’s more about generating spectacular content rather than the sport it was set out to be. Just go back to the 97/98-finals and watch the level of roughness the players had to deal with. I think true basketball fans truly miss ideas like hand-checking, because it allowed for great dynamics and balance between defense and offense. I cannot put Lebron higher since Jordan would totally obliterate all competition if he had played in today’s era.

But older cats always tryna say players was basically stabbing each other on the court back in the old days. Lebron messed up big time in 2011. He lost to an old dirk and he had dwade and Chris Bosh who were the players that helped the heat win 2 games. Lebron averaged only 18 points and got outplayed by a bench player. The fact that the Mavericks had no all starts but dirk needed only 6 games to win the Miami heat with prime Lebron, dwade and bosh just shows how much they choked. Dwade played well tho he did average over 26 points so i gotta give some credit for dwade but Lebron he’ll no that was disappointing man

    Hold up my man, did you say Lebron is faster, a better rebounder, a better passer than MJ ????? Nope
    MJ was recorded (officially) at 4.3 for the 40 yard dash, Lebron 4.6
    Lebron has an amazing ability to get stats, but look at his rebound stats more closely. Offensive boards take more skill and work, Lebron hangs on D and gets a lot of lazy defensive boards. MJ averaged 26% ORB p/g (in a big man era) and Lebron just 16% (in an era when the court is more spread and rebounds are easier to get).
    Assists. Look at their Assist to turnover ratios, they are identical. Lebron has amazing skills at passing the ball and his court vision and IQ are outstanding. But don't underrate MJ's ability to pass the ball. He played team systems and played his role perfectly. Lebron only plays a Bron system and his team mates do a lot of off the ball work to get a large % of his assists. When MJ was required to run point, he averaged a triple double with 32ppg for a stretch and finished the season with 32.5/8/8

    b) This doesn't mean a lot.
    c) Jordan at his 35 was a bit better than Lebron James and won without an anthony davis doing as much as he did.
    d) Jordan at his 39 years, had 7+ games before the meniscus injury that he scored and played at the level Lebron James is now pretty much...up to an extent. And he had an even better chase down block lol.
    e) Well all the other points in this video are correct!

    Michael Jordan could easily have been the scoring leader of all time, he scored 32, 292 point in only 1072 games compared to Kareem with 38,387 points in 1560 games. If Jordan would have played 1300 games he would have scored more than 40k points and if he would play 1500 games like Kareem he would have scored maybe 45k points in his career. Also Lebron has 31,966 in 1177 games, 105 more games and Jordan still has more points.

    People never mention the defense as much as they should, defense is half of the whole game. Imagine being absolutely feared on both ends of the court for almost a whole career. MJ would lock up whoever he was defending and easily put up 30 points. Even if his efficiency was lower than Lebron's, his defense would make up for it by creating turnovers for the opponents and more points for his team. The Bulls in the MJ era were known for being an unreal defense and that's how they got a lot of points, but also imagine MJ averaging 35+ ppg while also wreaking havoc on the defensive side as well.

    Jordan only played 13 full seasons for The Bulls. He missed almost all of his second season through injury and still got ten scoring titles. That's basically ten out of twelve where he was top scorer and nine out of twelve where he was all defensive first team. and 2 threepeates with 6 finals MVP's. How can this guys goat status be doubted?

      As a Lebron fan, I completely agree with the fact that Jordan is the goat. Cause he is a better two-way player, better clutch player(Lebron is more clutch than people think). But Jordan is the most legitimate one who has almost no meltdowns, far more accolades and team sucess. But one reason I can't endure is to say Lebron formed a superteam. Cause if Lebron's team is a superteam, than Jordan's Bulls which gain more sucess is a super super super team. Plus, Jordan teams are usually the favorites in playoffs despite the first few years. But the only time Lebron's team has been the obvious favorite is in 2011 and 2013 and he chokes in 2011 which I am sill mad of and 2013. I mean if you compare (Jordan's team vs his opponent) vs (Lebron's team vs his opponent), Lebron is in the downside more.
