I was about to die from an overdose in my apartment in Miami all alone after so many different drugs…I went to grab my phone and I couldn’t even see what I pressed and out of no where TH-cam started and this song played. My heart was beating out of my chest and then the room turned white and I felt at peace. My heart slowed down and I survived. Jesus Christ is real people. He saved my life.

Partying and praising are 2 very different things; and adding Christian expressions doesn't make it godly no more than when Bruno Mars sings "Hallelujah" in his song about uptown funk or when it's added to the lyrics of a song in a Shrek movie. The Bible says we can't love 2 masters. We have to hate (be out of fellowship) with one and love the other (loyal, faithful, & committed) to the other. Nothing is on our own terms. You can "get your groove on" & be blessed b/c God reigns on the just as well as the unjust. But it doesn't mean that you are in a no compromise disciplined separated FULLY. committed relationship with Him that brings God glory. So, no we can't belong to Christ and be halted between 2 opinions. Something can feel right and we still know it's wrong; and it IS wrong of it's not right from every angle. Putting a "Hallelujah" sticker or tag on something doesn't change its content. Sorry.

You can be more of the traditional type, someone else the contemporary type and I'm more of the middle who appreciate both. I absolutely love this song..I randomly stumbled across this song and fell in love..I am actually playing this song for the "Intro" song for my daughter's 18th bday party at a cabin at Lake Whitney..shes inviting 8 friends.." Covid Limits"..and Im totally surprising her friends with this song as they walk into her party..yes..we are from the Dallas area ..more on the outskirts..in the country..and she has friends that are into wrap music n hard core stuff..but she is stuck in the middle of the music her mom raised her on and different music her dad raised her on..and of course the music she likes in her generation..but she is also heavily involved with her church and wishes more of her friends can be more involved with God and Church...but its hard here... she says nobody from her High School even goes to her church... and when she goes to school she still tries to remain cool and listen to the same music the kids listen to so when I throw this party for her I am so going to mix in the cool music that the other kids listen to and also Christian music that she also loves but what's so crazy is that I stumbled across the song and I played it for her and I asked her "can I use this as your first song when everybody walks into the cabin " and she said.."Absolutely"..its meets her Christianity side as well of the cool wrap songs her friends like..!!! I totally agree with you. I was raised under old school ways. While I don't agree with every old school way, I don't agree with this. Old school says you can't do anything at all because it was a sin. Everything is not a sin. God wants us to enjoy things in this life, but with a balance. We did not know back in the day, how to balance. I know today, some things that I did not do back in the day I do them now BUT according to the Word of God. I believe that you can dance, but not inappropriately and definitely NOT in an inappropriate place or environment. But that is different than a praise unto the Lord. It is very very important to have an active healthy relationship with God in addition to you reading that WORD. If not you will find yourself going in all kinds of directions that are not of God. I don't believe that people are reading that Word and having an active relationship with Gid. And they go hand in hand. The scripture says be in the world but not of it. And the scripture also says that: all that is in the world is the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. And just to make it clear, the lusting part does not just pertain to lusting for sex. We can lust for material things that we don't even need. So if one is functioning in those manners (and we all do at some time or another)we got to check ourselves.

Just give me Lee Williams No Fault or When the gates swing open or that old hymn Near the cross and I'm worshipping for hours. I just cannot get with some of the music of today no matter the genre. This man does have a beautiful voice and I know we are all free to worship how we see fit. I just found myself confused on the song itself.
