I totally wanted to see the crystals, but I got too stressed out watching him swing away with the sledge hammer without any eye protection! :D Glad you moved the dog. Nice crystals, regardless. Thanks for the video!
Sweet adventure great editing great to see daisy relaxing well scored some crystals big pocket hopefully no one else did dig there yup great work out awesome video thank u
MeMiner....great digging, loved the sound effects when he threw the big rock and it hit the shovel...we got a scream, something else and a mooing Cow....the other one that went by by....! Cute ...! =)
“That’s a rock” said the budding geologist. Good to see a young couple sharing hard work together. Everyone please stay awesome and hey Daisy. Keep an eye on meMiner.
Gee, I can't wait for this lockdown to be over as watching this is making me really hang out to go out for a dig for crystals! Thanks for the vids to help scratch my prospecting itch!!! 😀
I'm confined to home, lockdown or not, so I really enjoy videos like this, although a bit "jelli" as the young people say these days--really miss doing things like this myself. Used to fossil hunt a lot too. I too can't wait for this to end--videos like this are slowing down. Noticed some of my favorite channels are digging deep for "B-roll" footage, making up for the shortfall. Thanks for posting this, MeMiner, enjoyed it!
I wouldn't want to be the owner of the shoulders wielding that sledgehammer. Holy cows, that looked like hard, dangerous work. I laughed at the TP chaching! Who would have thought? Thanks for the great video! Take care.
Hi Greig , 2 things - # 1 I have a 12 lb sledge you guys can borrow and #2 I loved the "chaching" for the butwipe and I had a good laugh. Stay safe and healthy, best regards Lloyd.
It was fun and I still wonder what was at the bottom. The crystals tend to migrate lower. If we were finding titanite, I would have gone back and really opened it up. ;-)
Yes, thats me in the photo 59 years young and you finally get to see what I look like now there are no more warrants from interpol. Big tip, if your hammer bounces, Don't bother swinging it again, the force is not being absorbed so it won't break. Good old Daisy is looking well, how are you doing Greig? I'm having a big life changing year, Unfortunately it's time I was moving on to pastures new, Don't know where yet though.
can you make another video where you clean off the crystals and you show us and where you describe the only places you can find it? because i found some lemon lime green stones, but i don't know if its that. it would be good to reference.
Oboy somefolk's Got the hunger for Appatite then Daisy just found the most comfortable Spot Dad in the danger zone did you hear that big rock smack that car down the hill just Classic yet respectable!! You getting near a bigger Spot Next huh !!!; ) Thank's MeMiner!!!
Mine is from Way-too-Cool. I think it is 18 Watt and has UVA, UVB and UVC. At the time, it was considered one of best out there. I have seen a few in use that are more powerful, which I like, but also heard there is a shortage of one of the bulbs, so difficult to get right now. If I was to buy now, I would just get UVA and UVC to save a little money. I am not finding much use for UVB. If you are going to use it in hot temperatures, get one with a fan. Mine has the fan but it is cooler here, so that is something I probably didn't need to buy either.
Hahaha, I brought a wrecking bar and 12lb sledge to Titanite Hill once. Way more work than reward. Now I look for loose soil in between the sills and tree roots. Dig slowly. Oh, and lol all the people saying he should be wearing "googles"... I almost never wear them either. You learn how to do it. Have I got things in my eye? Of course. Will I change? no. LOL! How do you know where to start digging? Do you use that metal rod to probe until you find a void? Or are the voids under the rock?
Your quiet manner used in teaching this young couple was so gracious. They truly lacked your awareness or appreciation of each find.

I have a chunk of calcite that has red mineral chunks throughout
Like a chocolate chip cookie
What could it be
Soak it in vinegar
Does garnet grow in calcite? Is it red like rubies or red like red granite? Just curious, it's not like I'd know either way, LOL.
What drill would you use to get holes in to rock?
Percussive (hammer) drill. Taps the bit while rotating it.
Star drill and hammer just the way John Henry did it.
