That was awesome! Man I really love hearing back stories on knives like this! So frickin cool of you to take the time and share all that with us. Thank you so much. Love them knives too!
You’re welcome, it’s my pleasure.
Thank you for the kind words.
I appreciate you watching and commenting!👊🏻
The back story was fascinating. Would love to see a top 10 favorite knives.
Crazy story, huh?
There was all kinds of other stuff that went on that led to the demise of Schatt & Morgan too, but I didn’t want a 45 minute video 😆
It would be a great topic for discussion on my livestream (if I ever get that going).
Like a series of livestreams where each episode is a discussion of the history of a specific cutler.
I nerd out on that stuff haha
You want to see my top 10 favorite?
Modern, traditional, fixed blade, or all of the above?
I did a “favorite budget moderns” video a while back.
It’s so hard to narrow it down 😆
Tell me what kind of knives you want to see and I’ll do it my friend.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
I appreciate you 🙏🏻
@TimsSchoolOfFish I would watch a 45 min video, lol. I love watching back stories and history videos.
I would watch traditional modern and an ultimate top 10.
If you get a liveestream going, that would be awesome.
@@nightwing8755
I’ll do that then.
I’ll make a top 10 traditionals.
A separate top 10 moderns.
Then another top 10 of any and all knives.
It’s gonna be hard to narrow it down😆
Great history lesson Tim! I have the whole series because they are good knives and affordable. Only problems I have are 1. The peanut main blade can get blade rap. If your not carful. 2. The canoe didnt have a good pull or walk and talk. Could be the thin springs. 3. My Doctors knife had some gap in the back spring and blade rubbing the liner. 5. Barlow had a crack in bone near the back pin. Not a problem but was very sharp. They sent me another one at no extra charge. Now they could have been duds. And the rest of the patterns were perfect. Great series
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks!
I knew about the peanut.
My canoe is lazy too, but folks have said that it’s better once it breaks in.
But the fitment on all mine are spot on.
I’d be upset though if my Barlow had a crack because that and the wharncliffe are my favorites.
Thanks for watching and commenting, Andrew!
I appreciate it👊🏻
Class was in session today with the history of the brand!! I love learning the specifics behind these companies, it really tells us a lot about the history of these blades!! Thanks for sharing this!!
I thought it was pretty interesting!
I like the history of cutlers too.
Thanks for watching and commenting, Jerry!
I appreciate it👊🏻
Excellent video Tim !!
Great job on the history lesson!!
Thanks for sharing 👍
Thank you, Terry!
I appreciate you watching and commenting, my friend👊🏻
Really appreciated all the extra history and research on this one, I had never heard any of that. Thanks so much for sharing!!
Yeah it’s very cool.
I enjoyed doing the research.
There was some other sketchy stuff that went on and some other things that led to Schatt & Morgan’s downfall too, but I didn’t want a 40 minute video😆
Thanks for watching and commenting, Jake!
I appreciate it👊🏻
@@TimsSchoolOfFish Haha I have that same problem with video length. I think I have only had 1 hit the 40 minute mark so far.
Great review from the Master! That was a very interesting story about the history of those knives. Thanks for sharing! Those are definitely some nice looking knives for sure. Keep up the great work Tim!
Thank you, David!
I appreciate your kind words🙏🏻
Great info & video, nice one buddy 😃👍
Thanks… I thought it was a pretty interesting history, so I wanted to share it!
Thanks for watching and commenting, JP!
I appreciate it👊🏻
Great job on the history and great looking knives. My first knife was a little lock back Queen knife my uncle gave me when I was around eight.
Very cool!
I’m glad that SMKW is reintroducing some Queen USA knives.
Thanks for watching and commenting, my friend!
I appreciate it👊🏻
Great looking knives! Very nice series! Always great prices!
Yes indeed!
Thanks for watching and commenting, Mike!
I appreciate it👊🏻
Excellent info on the companies history. I love the whole series. Careful with the peanut, some of them are having blade wrap issues :/ Great video brother!
Good to know.
I’m not a huge peanut fan, so it won’t be getting much use anyway, but I’ll make sure to be careful.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
I appreciate it👊🏻
Wow, very interesting bit of history right there.
Thanks Paul!
Pretty crazy story.
I appreciate you watching and commenting, my friend👊🏻
Excellent video m8. Will definitely add a Queen or two to my collection 👍👊🤙
Thank you, my friend!
I’m a big fan of both Queen and Schatt & Morgan.
Thanks for watching and commenting, Will!
I appreciate it👊🏻
Thank You sincerely appreciate the knowledge I’ve been trying to get myself a Schatt and Morgan but there so expensive huh Wow them where some scammers huh Queen is now stepping it up on the quality control nowadays thank you Tim 😊
You’re welcome, it’s my pleasure.
Yeah those SM knives are sought after and so you’ll pay a pretty penny.
Pretty sketchy beginnings huh?!
The American way I suppose.
Thank you for watching and commenting, my friend!
I appreciate it👊🏻
Man, I feel for the old Schatt & Morgan! They got screwed. I have the wharnie in that series, and it’s fine. The scales are soooo thin - no wonder folks get cracking. I like the unusual blade set on the peanut.
They definitely got screwed!
It’s a great series.
Thank you Su🙏🏻
That Trapper reminds me of the RR, trapper, idk maybe its just the double nail knicks with the match strike, and the bolsters...
Haha double nail nicks… I’m not a fan!!😆
Thank you my friend 👊🏻
Very nice looking series of knives
They are very well done!
Thank you for watching and commenting, Jeff!
I appreciate it👊🏻
@@TimsSchoolOfFish it is my pleasure. The ironic part about Titusville, Pa is that i live about 1.5 hours south west of the town lol. Awesome history i never knew about till i started watching videos grom this community and yours.
@@jeffjackson5331
How bout that… very cool.
Lots and lots of American cutlery history up there near you.
@@TimsSchoolOfFish oh yeah that is for sure. Did you also know that Drakes Well in Titusville was the very first oil drilling rig in the country?
@@jeffjackson5331
Did not know that!
Very cool.
Had the Barlow from that series..Chinese made..lots of gaps..beautiful scales but the dye starting coming off when I cleaned it...gave it away. Queen knives, at least done, are now being made by Bear and Son...average Bear and son quality with nice scales.....
Hi, MrTim great history lesson anyone would think your a teacher or something 😂😂 . I passed up two of the china made queens over here wasnt sure on the origins thought they were cheap Chinese knives 😢 . Now that won't happen again thanks 👍
I can’t imagine why anyone would think I was a teacher for 20 (longgggg) years🤣
I can’t say that all the Chinese made Queen knives are done as well as this series.
But this Sawcut Bone series is fantastic!
Thank you for watching and commenting, my friend!
I appreciate it👊🏻
That was an interesting story buddy!
Be nice to lay hands on some of the knives that say Queen City wouldn’t it?
Those new ones you were displaying are pretty freakin dope!!!👊🏻💯👍🏻
Definitely a crazy story.
Yes it would.
Thank you brother 👊🏻
