@@qimingwang5844 He just said he repaired them. I don't think he owned the company so he was most likely just a maintenance employee.

That looked like a new jackhammer being disassembled. If yours has many hours on it and was run hard expect to have to beat things loose like the piston, the tappet, the valve components. And then do a lot of wire wheeling, rust removal, and polishing.

I'm curious. Can an hammer be adapted to work with hydraulics?

I just took my first one apart today.. they're gonna buy me the reseal kit. I'm not too familiar with what the parts are called but that all comes with time.

That was a great video. I could probably service my own if needed after watching it BUT I'd rather have a specialist like yourself. I'm in PA. Where are you located?

He's located in Connecticut, but he hasn't uploaded a video in like almost 10 years so I don't know if he's still around anymore working. He also has his own website and if you click on his TH-cam page in the "about" section it'll give you all that information.

Would you pack the end, where the chisel is inserted, with grease?. Had some one do it on a breaker we were using today. He said you should always pack the ends with grease. I said as long as it's clean it doesn't need any lubricating, in fact the grease just lets sand, gravel, e.t.c. stick to it and this then causes wear, and it's a pain in the ass as you get it all over your hands when changing steels. Plus all the air breakers I have ever used seem to have been dry. What do you think?.

Use chisel paste for your jackhammers. That's what I do on my rig mounted hydraulic breakers. Chisel paste is basically a super heavy duty grease that has a high impact rating. Some are rated for over 500,000 psi (pounds per square inch) and lots of them are also high temperature rated. I have one that is rated for over 2,000° Fahrenheit and down to negative -25° f. Chisel paste is expensive, but it will save you thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars in costly repair maintenance.
