Between July and August, the south-western French region of Gironde was hit by major wildfires, destroying nearly 30,000 hectares of forest. The magnitude and fury of the blaze shocked the country, with many now using the term megafire to describe the disaster. So has France entered a new era of megafires? Most of these fires ate due to ineptitude of leadership. California and Australia for sure. They have practices set that promote wildfires while refusing to implement any common sense practices like controlled burning or cutting fire breaks. If they did that they couldn't scream climate like they've been since the 1970's
