I just recently used pip planting with saturn critter traps in a rocket design with melted rocket walls. I also had problems getting the pips to plant, but eventually i got them to plant reliably. The reason pips seem to sometimes not want to do anything is because of the ambient temperature. While the plants are growable around 0 degrees celsius, the pips would only plant the seeds when the ambient temperature had dropped lower to about in -20 degrees celsius. In this case they planted normally without any issues.
Is the "move to" button different on critters than on materials? You can put a priority on the "move to" command if you want to move materials. If you hover over the tile, where you wanna move the critter, its should say "move here". If you click on that it should give you the option to change the priority. Alternativly you can go in the priority-overlay and click on duties, then the move to command should be highlighted alwell.
Good point. I did not think about checking the designation symbol. I only tried the critter and the command itself. It does actually work if you press on the crosshair symbol!
Based off the wiki, Beeta hives will starve to death after becoming empty. Thus, give it a bit of uranium ore to process into enriched uranium, then leave it be and it should last forever.

Two suggestions: 1. Remove the buffer tanks - you don't really need them since you are using infinite storage and liquid consumption is less than 10 kg/s overall. A pipe directly from the pump should do the trick, should it not? 2. Replace metal tiles in generator rooms with insulted ceramic ones, send the gas pipes mostly through them, and put conduction panels over them to transfer heat from one row to another. This should minimize the chill leak from the hydrogen in the pipes.
Good Points. 1.Made me think about why I had them there in the first place. Must have been from the lumber setup. Because in that setup it is better to invest the energy of pumping when you have it. So you can then use the water when you have no energy. In this setup it "should" be ok to not have the pump pre-fill the reservoires since we also have a hydrogen buffer. 2. Sound like a viable option. not sure the conduction panels can handle the heat transfer fast enough from the lowes level to the top one but i think it might be possible. [Version 3 is already done so i won't inlcude the ideas there. But i keep it in mind for latert use.] Thanks as always Nazgul!
Gas pumps do not generate heat, including the small plastic version. Only liquid pumps generate heat. How often have you encountered an overheating pumps during vacuuming the rooms? :D
You should be able to use ethanol or oil aquatuners for greater efficiency instead of thermotuners. (Especially since you would need less steel that way.)
Pips can now plant in vacuum so it shouldn't be an issue but you van never be sure. i also tried hydrogen, oxygen dirt, metal etc. it was way to random. Maybe because of the testing branch?
@@Lorens4444 You have access to water so you can include a toilet system. I just didn't want to. For me pips plant in a vacuum nonetheless, but I am not sure if they planted because the tiles had the matching temperature for the plants

@@lumarawYou can also give Storing (versus tidy or supply) the highest priority and they’ll prioritize moving the item over other tasks.

Interesting! So if you never empty the beeta hive, it will never starve.
You can actualy prioritize the move tool... click on the target area of the move not the subject to be moved
There are no bees in the base game, only in the DLC.

True i gotta freshen up my ONI knowledge. Some thing i have never noticed apparently.
Username checks out :)

That setup with the pips might have not worked because the pressure in the area was too low. Just a guess

I have a question: How does this setup produce Bleach Stone (for Hand Sanitizer)?
The hand sanitizer is deactivated. it is just necessary for the moral bobus of the latrine. So no bleach stone
