This is a video of my 1955 GMC 2nd series pickup. The truck is a deluxe cab with a 316 V8 and Hydra-matic transmission. This is the first time it ran since the mid 80's.
instead of driving it around your yard , tune it up , tires and brakes . register it and put her on the road ? , fix it as your using it ! . you will get a lot more enjoyment from it than stuffing it in a shed . Ray in Pa.
Thanks!! I'm positive it's a 316. Verified the serial number stamped on the side of the block. GMC started out using the 288 in early production; however, they switched to the 316 in later production. Both engines are also mentioned in the 55 repair manuals.
