Doctorows general belittling of RT as low journalism is too sweeping to be true. RT was and is a very useful and valuable tool to get a picture of the overall situation in the world from the Russian point of view, plus it has some really good journalists and foreign contributers.
One gets information via RTL that the Western media simply does not publish.
For all of Doctorows seriousness and demonstrative dignity, I am astonished about his obvious need to disparage and in some way disqualify his peers, his fellow campaigners and other analysts on TH-cam. If he could stop doing that, his voice would be even more credible than it already is.

I have never seen (because it is censored) RT's TV broadcast. But I read the text articles, most of which are written by Western journalists.
It is essential to get both sides of the story. If it was done badly, that is still better than nothing at all. But the text version of RT is much better than anything we are getting from US media. It is necessary to be skeptical and find alternative sources. That is true of any source.
When I went into the library to find out what was really going on in Vietnam, I got a shock from which I have never recovered.
Thank goodness for RT (text version), or I would know nothing about the Russian point of view, which I believe is the truth.

With all respect Dr. Doctorow, RT had no chance to informing or convince the US audience of anything, no matter how they presented it, as the average American has way to high a thinking of themselves.
That is how they can justify setting their "International Rules based Order" above International Law.
RT America did however open the eyes of many international viewers (like me here in South Africa), that tuned in and found RT America more accessible than Sputnik or other Russian outlets.
This helped to prepare the path for the growth of BRICS.

Not sure which RT, Dr Doctorow has been listening but I have been listening and watching them on for long time I see none of the issue Dr Doctorow to say them low quality. RT has much more quality than any of the Most of the MSM such as BBC,CNN,ABC,NBC etc. Most of the News Readers are also higher quality than MSM ones.

Its not 30km in one area its 30 square kilometers taken in one day across the front...in some areas nothing in others 1-2-3km. Thr issue here is that in certain areas the front is almost broken, as the Ukrainians are on their last line of defense. After that is only open plains with almost no villages and no place to make a stand. That is the key take away

It wasn't just a couple of Swedes who died in Poltava. Several NATO planes were evacuating the dead and wounded after the strike.
They've already reported the sudden violent death in Poland of a US colonel, who, by an amazing coincidence, was a specialist in electronic intelligence.
Judging by the size of the planes, they could have evacuated several hundred people. There were small business jets, a large military transport plane, and a passenger airliner that looked like a Boeing 747. And the screams went up to the sky, which confirms that military advisers were hit.
