Clean-ups just got easier with the Makita 18V X2 LXT® Lithium-Ion (36 V) cordless/corded 2.1 Gallon dry vacuum. The XCV04Z (tool only) offers corded or cordless operation for maximum versatility and convenience. In cordless operation, the XCV04Z is powered by two 18V LXT® batteries for 36 V power and run-time, without leaving the 18V LXT® battery platform. Using two 18V 5.0 Ah batteries (sold separately), the XCV04Z delivers up to 65 minutes of continuous run time on low setting and 30 minutes on high setting, with 74 CFM and 36 in. water lift of suction. In corded operation, the vacuum delivers 127 CFM and 96 In. water lift. The 19.7 ft. power cord combined with the anti-static hoses (1-1/2 in. x 8 ft. or 1 in. x 11-1/2 ft., both included) provide extended reach for fast clean-ups. The XCV04Z has a 3-stage filtration system engineered for efficient cleaning and to extend the life of the main filter. The system consists of a pre-filter bag (captures larger dust particulates), damper filter (captures much smaller particulates) and main filter (captures micro particles). all three filter components are included. the XCV04Z is loaded with ease-of-use features. The oversize on-off switch, variable speed control dial, and dual L.E.D. battery indicators are clearly visible and easily accessible on the top and front of the vacuum. Additional features include quick-release metal latches, large rubber bumper, and rear casters with locking levers. It’s part of Makita's expanding 18V Lithium-Ion series, the world’s largest cordless tool line-up powered by an 18V Lithium-Ion slide-style battery. Makita 18V Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger.

I love the option of corded and cordless in a vacuum, I usually do most of the dusty work inside peoples homes, but on the odd occasion I would be working outside or want to vacuum the inside of the car.

with the filter over the hepa filter why is there a need for a bag and to buy them should just be able to sit in the tray?

I'm not understanding the bag arrangement. It doesn't look like a normal bag that fills up with debris but just a liner where the debris sits on instead. Wish that had been demonstrated better.

The white fabric bag is a pre-filter for the pleated HEPA filter. Corse dusts are kept inside the grey bag that surrounds the white filters.
Does the vacuum charge the batteries when it's plugged in?

Bought the unit and after living with it found the package to be rubbish. Poor suction on batteries , vac wand weak and thin . In Australia they don’t give you the same filter system, storage is messy,no adaptor. Only good on electric and festoon is cheaper then. My worst Makita tool

This model does not have Bluetooth. However, Makita's XCV08 model does have AWS Bluetooth connectivity. www.toolnut.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=xcv08

Are you guys sure this is the right model? I talked to another retailer and they were telling me that this model that you guys are talking about is only cordless and does not run on electricity.

Well, it does look like we have the wrong item number listed. The corded/cordless model is the XCV04Z. Thanks for pointing out the mistake so we could correct it. Link to the model in the video:

haha aweful delivery of the product information. No script and no knowledge. The numbers were not accurate and the compatibility is not something anyone wants to hear guesses about. I can hardly believe red & grey hat guy was not embarrassed

Good luck connecting this to other Makita tools. Makita vacuums are half-baked dumpster garbage with regard to interoperability.
