Whether right or wrong, drama is bad for a public figure, even for anyone, so to respond to that drama with "violence" will always bring a negative outcome, especially when the other party can play victim. You can even see it in todays real world events. If she screamed for help instead of biting, and if she called security or any staff instead of pushing the fan. The outcome may still lead to drama, but not pointed at her, but she has chosen the options that gave the other party a chance to play victim and single her out, and whether you can strongly defend yourself or not, it doesn't matter, because your reputation is damaged. She wasn't punished for defending herself, she was punished for choosing all the wrong ways to go about it as a professional.

As someone who has healed from a sexual assault attempt, I want to say that when you are being manhandled or assaulted like that, your first thoughts will not be like: "should i call someone" or "how do i stop this person from assaulting me and have the evidence that whatever i did was in defense", your first thought is "i need to save myself". Before being a professional the person is a human above all. And they unarguably have the right to defend and protect themselves
