    I got lucky and got one at flea market for 2 bucks, is in rough shape, but gas most of the rockets and stickers only real damage is one of the curved grips for the under gun are snapped and a barrel off the turret, still a decent display piece

    There's a funny story behind why it does not transform... it's a similar reason why Jetfire became Skyfire in the cartoon. Hasbro bought the rights to the Veritech fighter design toywise, Harmony Gold had the rights to the Veritech fighter cartoon wise. So Hasbro for the cartoon had to redesign jetfire into Skyfire, and Matchbox / Harmony Gold had to redesign the fighter slightly, that's why you see that the legs are separate pieces with the foot pieces still being "transformable" but you'll find the legs in fixed positions. The arms on this one although still roughly shaped like the arms, became a single molded piece. :)

      yeah -I noticed that with the arms -and they also fold into a position where the head would be on the opposite side of it transformed when comparing it to versions of the Veritech that I do have that transform.
      Thanx for the additional info. I didn’t know it was also a Hasbro / licensing thing also. -someone should do a Transforming version today, now that all those licenses are over....

      @@Superawesomegeekshow : You can get some transformable Veritech fighters made by Yamato and Bandai in the mid 90s/early 2000s that are decent quality, but a bit pricey. There are also Veritech figures made by Toynami, but very, very fragile.

      Now we know that disHarmony Gold don't own the rights for the veritech fighter but just the right to dub and sold those dub so Hasbro who own the right to the design for the Veritech for use as jetfire would win in a court case.

    Yeah mine was in pieces very quickly as a kid 😆 same as my voltron. That thing was crazy fragile for the price (I'm told) too. There was a Korean die-cast metal ripoff version of voltron that was way better quality. I forget the name of that toy though. But my dad tells me it was cheaper and way better quality.

      Yeah they have done many versions through the years. Die cast is the way to go for play. This now just sits on a shelf in a display so it won’t break. Thanx for watching and commenting.

    I have this same jet but with a green coloured clip on rocket back. Comes with the gun under the belly and all 16 rockets but no figure. Had it so long didn’t know what it was from and never heard of Veritech until today. I’d love any info anyone might have?

    • @Superawesomegeekshow
      @Superawesomegeekshow  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      so it’s basically the same but different colors.
      -well it could just be that the toy companies reused the same mold and just made more toys in different colors. I’ll look up some things and see if there were any variations made on this and let you know if I find any information
