  • Hi guys, this week is a short one, i will show something quite simple but very useful today, i will show you how to create a simple trampoline / jump pad or whatever you want to call it in GDevelop 5. We will be using default platformer behaviors to do this, so nothing special or complex is required here :)

    Awesome tutorial.
    Last event, change the jump speed to the original value when "NOT IN COLLISION WITH TRAMPOLINI" - it will work better, making the jump speed the original value right after the plasyer leaves the trampolini.

    I suggest to change that reducing speed of animation: "If players is on floor > change jump speed to (jump speed ), because if you have multiple platforms in game, you need add this for each platform, but using it "on floor" this will fix that problem.

    Another clear and concise tutorial. Thanks for taking the time to make it. I am about to start developing 2 new simple games for a client (I run a small agency) and am currently evaluating both GDevelop and Construct 3 - I need make a platform game and an isometric game. What are the key benefits of GDevelop over Construct in your opinion? It feels like GDevelop is just a clone/copy of Construct and released as open source - or am I missing something?

    • @cltr_shft
      @cltr_shft  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've used both engines and yes they do look very similar, as far as i know GDevelop was the first, but that a side i prefer GDevelop because it's easier to use and understand, it has cleaner interface, don't forget it's free, it also has a good community support and regular releases. So far i was able to bring to life everything that's on my mind just because events and behaviors make total sense in GDevelop and so if you don't know how to do something, you just find out very quickly the way

    I am new to GDevelop and the tutorial was very helpful, but I found some bugs after implementing the events. I have noticed that you can walk above the trampoline without triggering the events, and if you hold the jump key and the moving key while in the air, the player's jump speed will not change as long as you hold those keys. I have tried adding points and changing the player's hitbox, but that did not work. I am wondering if there is a way to fix those bugs.

    Hey! great tutorials. what about making a player move faster when collission with gems. and it only has to move faster 1.5sec in time, how do you do that? the first part works but reducing the speed again to normal doesn't. any ideas?

    What about an animation between animations. My character, for example runs left fast. But if i press right during, i want her to squat with some dust, then run the opposite direction. Ive got the animation files but setting it up is a whole different sport, can you advise

    • @cltr_shft
      @cltr_shft  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that is a good suggestion for a tutorial, i will definitely make it, but as far is i can imagine you need to check whether player is still moving and you are pressing the opposite key, then you play that animation and wait to play any other animation until that "sliding" animation has finished
