In America, an Asian actress will never be allowed to become this popular. Actresses like Reba will at best become a small supporting actress in America. In China, she gets to be queen. 2) Reba making a livestream, and making herself easily accessible to fans, is also another amazing thing that will never happen in America. In America, famous people seal themselves from their fans and will never do something like a livestream due to fear of being critique. It just will never happen. I like the fact that China is actively pursuing a policy of encouraging and creating opportunities for minority actors/actresses to make it into the entertainment mainstream. And most important of all, these non-Han entertainers have to well-received by the Chinese audience itself if they are to become popular, so kudos to the Han Chinese for embracing minority actors/actresses. In America, Asian actors/actresses will never get this opportunity, because American audience don't embrace Asian in leading roles.
altho im not denying your point but uyghur is still chinese in china territory meanwhile asian actress in america still asian.. and fyi reba in her early carrier got questioned and doubt alot by many director because of her striking beautiful face and recognize obv from xinjiang and got rejected alot bc she look foreign and thus cannot play ancient drama but as time goes by she prove her worth even tho there still people that saying her face is too "modern" to be in ancient drama but bc of her talent she got it anyway..and fyi too back then reba also not dare to do livestream bc she too got criticized alot bc of that but as time goes by she doesnt even care anymore (and mostly bc now her fanbase is more strong and big than before) and thats what i love about her this year even more bc she dont care what people say anymore first the long ballad she doubt to take that role for what people have been said sec she now do a livestream regardless what happen in the past
Yeah...I think you need to get out more. Maybe you don't ever hear news about how the Chinese government is "re-educating" Uhygurs. Not everyone is as fortunate as Dilraba and able to live as freely as her. Also, I still see some people making gross comments that she shouldn't have roles from Chinese costume dramas because she's too "americanese" or doesn't look Chinese enough.
