Spanish guy here. Caballero, Spanish word that means "knight" it is pronounced "cabayero". Nice bike, it reminds me the enduro bikes of the seventies. I saw the bike in the flesh and I loved it. Forks are spectacular and overall quality awesome. Love the video.
Thanks Stuart for the comment. Nice to hear from an owner who's had the bike a while. I did think that Fantic would have a loyal & supportive owner base. It's a very very nice bike...
@@MindfulMotorcyclist I am happy with it. Like you said use it for what it's designed for and it great. Only thing is the fuel gauge is more of a guess then gauge. I just fill it and reset trip meter
do you ever feel like you are missing the power a bit? I enjoy character the most with bikes, I want something that I look at makes me happy and the ride is fun, but I wonder if I will miss some of the power. I had a 1989 Kawasaki KZ 750 and if wasn't any beast by any means, but it felt good. I did ride the scrambler at a bike show and I remember it being so much fun! but i wondered if I felt the bike would start feeling too small after a bit.

@@MindfulMotorcyclist The Philippines. There has been a few caballeros brought in here, but we've yet to know when they'll actually be up for sale. Would really love to have one of these because it's expressway legal (400cc+) and light enough for the terrain. I'm afraid the himalayan is too heavy for this tropical country.

Hi Spencer, I just looked up the invoice for this and it is this - Oxford Churchill Motorcycle Jacket L Navy £ 55.99. Not sure if it is still available...
Thanks a lot, after you said this I went back and watched it and I agree. This one something just went right, I was flowing on this. Doesn't always work out so well 😂😂. Thank you again.
@@MindfulMotorcyclist I didn’t know any one else with one to get a honest opinion, my dealer just adjusted the tick over revs and had never heard of the remap for it and another wasn’t much help either. Shame really I liked the way it looked and handled.
@@MindfulMotorcyclistThere was a bad batch of fuel pumps. A decent dealer would have picked that up from the off as they play up almost immediately if they are rogue. Never had mine cut out and it’s an early deluxe model with the odd ball switchgear - which I like because it’s different. The ZS motor is being used in the new Kove 450 which had 3 finishers in the Dakar, which bodes well for reliability. There’s two German guys that have done a lot of TET on the Rally model - one suffered a cylinder head water leak which wasn’t repaired until after the journey (if I remember around 12K miles ?). Despite them continually boiling off the coolant, the engine needed nothing but a head gasket. They had the bikes in deep snow - almost buried over night. They were ragged mercilessly and came through well.
I don't think these bikes are cheap. I am a big fan of the Fantic Caballero Scrambler 500, especially in red, but over 7K is not cheap for a 450cc single. I'd rather like one, though,. I'd rather like all sorts of bikes. I spend most of the year in the far north of Thailand, so the Fantic is not available. I'd prefer it to my Mk2 390 Duke. I could get one for my time in England. It would be good for the Yorkshire Dales instead of my Buell XB12X. Another excellent video. I'm glad I found your channel. Nick J

Thanks for the comment and clarification on the naming! I agree the forks are amazing, they've also used them on the new 700cc model...
United States where to go to buy it?
Nice video. I have had my Deluxe for just over two years and 9800 miles and it's great fun.

Oh maaan! 🙈 It's not Callabero it's Caballero 👌 Cheers for the review 🤘
I know, I said it wrong the whole way through as well 😂.
@@MindfulMotorcyclist Never mind, the heart is in place 🙏
Where you rode out of looks like the Indian dealership I visited just today and noticed these for the first time. They’re lovely looking.
Hi Luke, yes this is at Midwest Moto, lovely dealership and I can thoroughly recommend them.
The explorer is stunning! Practical for PH, hope they bring it over here.
Hi Alvin thanks for the comment. Yes the explorer is a lovely bike, pardon my ignorance but where is PH? Thanks

I just put up a video on the Caballero 700 and only got this pronunciation wrong once! Things are improving 😂😂
The story behind the Fantic Caballero dates back to the seventies where they used to win competions
I’m toying on either the 500 or 700 but really need to take one out for myself. Great review, look forward to seeing one in the flesh.
I rode this today, great fun and 100% worth a ride out... Will post the review after edit finished in a few days
I would choose the 500. Less weight, less pricey and lighter.
They are as cool as anything, particularly in that colour.
Agreed, amazing looking motorcycles...
caballero, cab-uh-yero, fwiw. cheers.
I realised after I had recorded the whole video I'd said it wrong all the way through 🤦

Why would you have the flat tracker out of interest? Tyres and wheels better? I think they are very similar otherwise

Yes yes I pronounced it wrong 😂.
It´s a small detail. Congratulations for the video. Regards.

Designed and made in Italy?
Really? With chinese engine and suspension are you sure?
It’s not a single seat!!!
7K is going to get you twice better bike it should be around 2K for what it does
No way should this be £2k, I take it your not a fan of Fantic then 😊
2k 😂 7k is a lot for what it is, id put it at like 5.5/6 but not 2 lol
