I love to see these girls on the van tour. They don't have a clue they just know where their stuff goes. What you don't see cuz the nightmare after they move their crap in. The guy is so exciting less than a year later he's either by himself or she is grown bored and moved in with a guy three spots down with a Winnebago
For fridges I suggest you look into 12v compressor coolers they're way more efficient, way quieter and way higher performance than thermoelectric coolers. Just now got one for my 97 Astro I converted 17 years ago lol what an upgrade
There’s a 2003 Astro van for sale near me with 53,000 miles on it that I’m going to test drive today but I’m starting to feel like it’s already mine. I’ve watched multiple videos about astros that had a bunch of synchronicities in them. Like this one for instance the day you mentioned you got your van is my moms birthday and you have a four leaf clover hanging from your mirror and I actually found a real one at the park yesterday right before I went and looked at it from the outside. This is a nice conversion you’ve done here. Looks good!
Nice job guys!!! Those thermoelectric cooler/fridge suck power constantly. When you get a chance look into a compressor fridge like Alpicool or Domestic models if its in your budget. I know you use the Jackery 240 and I'm not sure what draw it will have but you should look into it. Perhaps add a 12v deep cycle AGM battery on an isolator would give you more peace of mind about the fridge. Either way it all should be considered based on your budget abilities. Those nice black water jugs on the roof rack or slim line water jugs mounted to the side wall above the kitchen would do well if you wanted to do a simple sink method. Just a suggestion. Either way keep things simple and whatever makes you happy is what matters!!!
Very nice set up. I picked up a GMC Safari cargo van that I'm hoping to turn into a camper van. I'm sure you've been asked this like a million times but where did you get that awesome roof rack and ladder? I have been looking but no luck.
Thank you, we love it! We have been asked that a ton so we made a video about it and the links are in the description as well :) th-cam.com/video/l3V-HjVZ_Jg/w-d-xo.html
Nice setup. I've watched a lot of van builds and like the Astro so much I just picked one up (AWD of course). Bought a fridge already and it's going in that same spot.
Cazadores Norte Americanos North American Hunters Yeah that is a good price, would recommend a thorough mechanical inspection first however. But for an AWD that is a good price.
With any luck it's Billy Joel's "The Stranger" album. Yeah. the tape decks just kind of did that. Once it thinks you're ears have bled enough Piano Man it will promptly (?) spit out the tape in a mess of magnetically marked plastic.
Hi Jack! We've been asked this and a few other questions quite often, so we made a vidoe with the specific information in it. th-cam.com/video/l3V-HjVZ_Jg/w-d-xo.html the info is also in the description of that video :) Thanks for watching!
I hope you guys have fans, I don't see any ventilation. It will get mighty warm in there. But great build anyway. I have two battery operated fans I use.
We do, good looking out! We turn on the fan and crack the windows and so far we've been good :) We might get a small roof vent later down the road. Thanks for sharing in the journey!
Thank you! It's worked out super great for us! We got the idea from Traveling Troy's bed build, it's awesome! Thanks for watching and sharing the journey with us! 🤗❤
Could you hinge the top to your kitchen box out and then use a support. That way you would have a small counter. Or put a counter on it and cut access in the front.
I have seen probably 50 van builds now. This one is very nicely done keeping it SIMPLE and on a tight budget! And it looks like it is modular enough that it can be easily converted back to a cargo hauler should the need arise. ( like, moving again. lol ) VERY nicely done y' all.
Thank you so much for watching and your encouragement on the van! We had to do it pretty simple, with only 5 weeks to build. We'd change a few things but for the most part we really love our van! Glad you have you along for the journey!
We just bought a Chevy Astro van and we are getting the brakes fixed and we are going to start living in our or is is well and traveling the country on Facebook and TH-cam
We had it custom made, we did a video with details recently (th-cam.com/video/l3V-HjVZ_Jg/w-d-xo.html ) the link to the shop that built our roof rack is in the description :) Best of luck with your van!
Very nice built & tour fellow Astro parents! :) And kudos to living in such small space as a couple! I find it a bit crowded when my boyfriend joins me for a few days.. haha. How long are you planning on travelling in it? Do you have anything regarding dishes/spitting after brushing teeth? A bin/bowl for that or so? I guess that´s more important for colder climates though - you guys are free to go where it´s nice n warm! :) Enjoy!
Hi Lisa!! Thanks, we haven't stayed in it full time yet, we start tomorrow so we'll see how it goes! We plan to start out this year with vanlife and then see about overseas and other adventures! We don't have anything to spit in after brushing, that's a good idea to think through for sure! Looks like you're enjoying the states over on your channel :) Cheers to the adventure!
@@sethbrownduo Uh exciting!! Hope you have some awesome first days! :) Even overseas - wow! It´s great to not be tied down to time or a city.. really cool! I´ve only been in the States for a short bit, being german, I just have a visa for Canada for now. But hopefully I can do some more US exploring in the future. :) Cheers!
Lucky is looking great! Glad you pointed out the cooler and the battery drain. I have used a similar model and it will kill a battery in less than 3 hours. Seth might want to look into another driver seat with a taller base. I'm 6'2 and driver seat can be a bit cramped. I pulled one from a junkyard van and it sits about 2 inches taller with lumbar support. Doesn't sound like much but your feet fit under the dash better and your knees will thank you!
Johnny Beales thank you! We’re excited how she turned out! That’s a great idea to think through with the seat! We’re also thinking of adding a swivel to the passenger too, we’ll see when that’s doable. Hope you’re doing awesome! 🤘🏽
You should do a vent or video with another TH-camr called American dinosaur. He's located in the Mojave Desert. I think this would be an awesome video idea
I think what you should have did that is put carpet down instead this way when you go on your knees it won't hurt your knees your you guys are young and you happy couples right now when you get older you're going to pay for it if you don't take care of your bodies just saying eventually you may want to buy Sprinter van down the road and redo it again this way you can stand in it I have a E350 and I did my high top myself so I can stand up in my van. . But that's a great deal for the Astro you did an excellent job I love the job you did on it I hope you guys are saving your money from the job that you quit and your house that you sold and don't squander your money either...
I hope you guys know what you're doing you're both have good jobs jobs are hard to come by good jobs so I hope you know what you doing by quitting your good jobs just to follow a trend don't make it a trend keep it real and do it for real because you love it a lot of people are doing it as a trend and finding out it's not as great as it looks I'd about the money by myself but I went to the Carew but I have two good jobs as well well one job but I work for myself but I love it brick-and-mortar work so I don't need you two to make money off but good luck I guess....
Nice simple build. They have cheap tension hardware for Ur wire so they don’t sag from the weight of Ur curtains. Start putting links to Ur outfits too U have a real sense of van life style ❤️ highly impressed and subscribed to see what kinda shenanigans U 2 get into ☮️❤️🤗
S H W E E E E E T !!! I love the way you put together your videos. It makes me feel old. Maybe you can do a cool video of me smoking some R I B S for you when you're here...
Awesome guys! Hope to see you down the road!

Very nice really like it

William Ley thanks so much for the advice and encouragement!!
Lmao. Ice is so messy! Kaaaaaaay
Nice van
Very nice can you by the pullout frame for the bed
We made that bed actually!
love the van! where did you get the ladder and roof rack?
a local fabrication shop in Madras, Oregon made it. Greh fabrication.
Very nice set up. I picked up a GMC Safari cargo van that I'm hoping to turn into a camper van. I'm sure you've been asked this like a million times but where did you get that awesome roof rack and ladder? I have been looking but no luck.

Why not keep the spare tire in the factory position? That extra weight is better in a lower position than adding to top heaviness of the van.
Nice setup. I've watched a lot of van builds and like the Astro so much I just picked one up (AWD of course). Bought a fridge already and it's going in that same spot.
Awesome.
Where did you get the roof rack?
I've been searching for one like that.
custom made in Madras, Oregon.
Nice setup
Thank you! And thanks for sharing the journey 🤗
Hey guys, just stopping by. Loving the van. I’m looking for an Astro 4x4 right now.
Hey!! Thanks for stopping in :) We love our Astro, a small van but super awesome, especially the 4x4!!
The VagaBrowns Does a 1999 163k miles, $3k sound like a good price ?
Cazadores Norte Americanos North American Hunters
Yeah that is a good price, would recommend a thorough mechanical inspection first however. But for an AWD that is a good price.
The VagaBrowns Sweet, I will definitely fallow you guys journey with the Astro. Thanks
Brilliant!
With any luck it's Billy Joel's "The Stranger" album. Yeah. the tape decks just kind of did that. Once it thinks you're ears have bled enough Piano Man it will promptly (?) spit out the tape in a mess of magnetically marked plastic.
What size tires?

Where did you get the roof rack and latter.
Hey, we just answered some questions about that on our latest video! Check it out and let us know if you have any other ?’s 🤘🏻
Are you guys going to hook up a solar panel 😋😋
Be careful that cooler kills batteries!
what roof rack is this?
Custom made in Madras, Oregon
You guys win! Best convertible bed ever for the Astro. THANK YOU!
Thank you! It's worked out super great for us! We got the idea from Traveling Troy's bed build, it's awesome! Thanks for watching and sharing the journey with us! 🤗❤
wheres the Shovel? always keep a shovel nearby
Great question! We have two shovels, keep them on the roof rack! Thanks for sharing the journey with us 💜
Could you hinge the top to your kitchen box out and then use a support. That way you would have a small counter. Or put a counter on it and cut access in the front.
Second Act great ideas!! We’re on the road now and I’m sure we’ll make upgrades as we get more accustomed to our needs. Thanks for watching 🙂

How do you guys keep cool for warm/hot nights?
We have a fan we plug into our jackery power source :) Thanks for watching! 🤘
Rig a thermostat and a switch to have it knock out the power
That's an awesome idea!! Thanks for watching :)
Thanks for showing the sleeping bad. I've never heard of the kind that flip over depending on the weather. I'm totally getting that!
You two ARE adorable! Best of luck
Thank you so much!! :)
Nice..I'm lookin at a promaster 118wb..its same length but wider and higher *..enjoy
Thanks for watching! The height is a big one, good call on that! Best of luck with your van :)
Wow very creative headboard storage design! Never thought about that. I also have an Astro and have thought about adding a headboard to recline on.
We are pretty glad we have it for sure :)
Should of bought a domedic or cost more but way better hope everything works out for you
RVing keep it rolling thank you!!
We just bought a Chevy Astro van and we are getting the brakes fixed and we are going to start living in our or is is well and traveling the country on Facebook and TH-cam
Head touching the ceiling while u sit... That is a special kind of torture
We've gotten a better system down, but it's still tight for sure!
It's me Isaac your nephew!!!!!
You guys did a little bit more as far as your van build then we did to our Astro looks good
It looks amazing. Great job! Can't wait to hear how it goes once you're sleeping in it.
Kristin Hocker thanks!!! We were talking last night about how we would have never made it without the Hocker crew and yalls help!!! Miss you!
kool you have one blue and one brown eye,...…..!!!!!@@sethbrownduo
Hey where did you guys find that cool roof rack? I need one for my Astro. 😀
We had it custom made, we did a video with details recently (th-cam.com/video/l3V-HjVZ_Jg/w-d-xo.html ) the link to the shop that built our roof rack is in the description :) Best of luck with your van!
Paused to say, don't wait for retirement ! Work as little as you must,as much as you love!

How about a sink?...a toilet?
We have water jugs for now and a toilet that can be broken down and stored :) Thanks for watching!
This looks like the idea I have of my weekend escape van that I want to build
YES! It would be a great weekend escape! Thanks for watching :)

A van tour video, in the Mojave Desert, the TH-cam channel is called American dinosaur.
Класс.удачи.молодцы.
This was amazing i love the ending seth playing the guitar what a great platform to perform your musical gifts
David Selva yes!! We love sharing music with the world too! 🎶☺️
You should do a vent or video with another TH-camr called American dinosaur. He's located in the Mojave Desert. I think this would be an awesome video idea
You should contact American dinosaur, and make a video at his home it's all about Astro Vans
I think what you should have did that is put carpet down instead this way when you go on your knees it won't hurt your knees your you guys are young and you happy couples right now when you get older you're going to pay for it if you don't take care of your bodies just saying eventually you may want to buy Sprinter van down the road and redo it again this way you can stand in it I have a E350 and I did my high top myself so I can stand up in my van. . 🚫 drones. Love those Astro Vans!
Awesome video!!! Do you guys plan on putting a Solar setup in the Van??
We have toyed with the idea, just depends on when we plan to head overseas for some travel too, if it's worth the investment now. Thanks for watching!
Love your Astro van me and my fiance have one that I am modifying
it looks great, but please tell me you didn't sell a house to live in an astro van?
gotham ghost we did actually! We had the American Dream and decided to sell it all to travel and pursue connection :)

I thought I was having a stroke while reading this.
I guess I don’t understand this way of life.
Erix7810 it’s not for everyone. It’s a whole different mindset. But to each their own.
