Travel Day | Gatwick to Orlando via Dublin | Aer Lingus | Cabana Bay Beach Resort | ORLANDO 2022

Welcome to the start of a brand new trip series - join us as we head to sunny Orlando Florida for 10 nights!
We fly outbound indirect from Gatwick with Aer Lingus (via Dublin), stay at Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort for the whole trip, then return home direct with British Airways. Going indirect via Dublin means we go through US Pre-Clearance in Dublin, which means no long immigration lines on arrival in Orlando!
This is our first trip to Orlando where we will not be visiting Walt Disney World! Instead we will be going to Universal Orlando Resort, Discovery Cove, and SeaWorld.
In this vlog we show you round our hotel room at Bloc Hotel (located in Gatwik's South Terminal), where we stayed for one night before travel day. It is VERY small!
We take our first flight from Gatwick to Dublin, then spend our layover time making good use of the Dublin airports 51st & Green lounge.
After tajking our second flight (Dublin to Orlando) we grab an Uber to check into our hotel: Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort! We absoloutely LOVE this place!!
There's lots of fun to come in this series, we really hope you enjoy coming along with us. Lots of theme park fun, food, and some shopping too.

Really enjoyable video and those refill cups for the length of stay is a bargain . You also said you were on a budget well if this is budget I’d keep to that plan as aer lingus looked Fantastic aswell . Cheers we both loved it
We love a refill cup and got so much use out of them 👍 We only considered flying indirect for budgetary reasons, but we're so glad we did. The whole process, and aer lingus, was fantastic.

Never fancied flying indirect but having watched, I would 100% do it the way you guys did here. The lounge looked outstanding and it must feel amazing to hit the tarmac and know you haven't got the immigration haul to come. Love the view from the room. Already looking foward to the next one 😍
We only chose indirect for budget reasons - but were so surprised how easy and stress-free it was, we'd 100% consider going that route again. Thankyou for watching, hope you guys are well 😊

Hi, first time watchin your vid's , love travel day ,it's soooooo excitin the build up & then the mornin goin to the airport & doin every thing you did ,travelled with a stop over ( lay over as the yanks say ) on a number of occasions & found it usually cheaper & when it goes well it's fine ( just a longer flight that's all ) it's soooooo funny to see the ppl i usually follow on here pass you in the airport what's the chances of that lol i had to go back & do a double take as i couldn't believe it lol 😃😎

@@WizardsAndWalt hey no probs at all enjoyed it & look forward to watchin your other vids , another little tip is to fly to sanford smaller airport with less ppl ( although not as small & quiet as it used to be your in & out of passport control in no time but is further to travel to THE main area but also can pick up bargains as every body seems to want to go to MCO orlando 😎

The pool was that busy every night and day, but it was great, the whole hotel is so lively and fun. Its definitely not a relaxed and chilled resort but We absolutely loved it!

Just found your channel. Really enjoying your videos. We've flown London via Dublin to Orlando with Aer Lingus before and would definitely recommend it too. We're off to Orlando in 2 weeks and going via Dublin again. Surprised more people don't as it's so much nicer to walk straight off the flight in MCO and not have to queue for immigration.. though it does feel like you're breaking the rules doesn't it!

Yay! Excited for another trip series, such a smooth travel day, glad it all went okay for you. Did you get your lanyards sorted? We pre-bought the plastic wallets from Amazon for a couple of ££ as they tend to get battered after a lot of use!

I've often wondered what both Aer Lingus and flying via Dublin was like and I wish we'd booked that way to go in November now! How much of a saving did you make, out of interest? We're having a Universal centred holiday without car when we go so are really looking forward to seeing how you got on (no pressure) 😉
I can't remember exact amounts but it was enough to make us afford to be able to switch from the Rosen Inn International to Cabana Bay, so a couple of hundred at least I reckon. Would definitely do it again too! Uber worked like a dream, never waited over 5 mins 👍 thanks for watching!
hi guys i really enjoy your videos, i have been travelling to florida for over 30 years and still learning ways to keep the costs down. i have done lots of indirect journeys but mainly changing planes in the us. if you take into account you get the immigration done at the first airport it doesnt add that much to the journey time. can i ask why you didnt do aer lingus to Dublin from Birmingham though?
Hello 👋 We were very happy with how smooth the immigration process was in Dublin. We booked via BA, and Aer Lingus from Birmingham was never an option for us - definitely one to consider in the future though, now that we know that route exists! Thankyou for watching 😊
@@WizardsAndWalt no problem, i normally track prices on google flights which then directs you to aer lingus if you wanted to book. would save you the gatwick journey and hotel costs
Potently stupid question, but, do they stamp your passport in Dublin with a US Immigration stamp the same as the one in MCO, or is it a Dublin stamp?
Hello 👋🏻 Not a stupid question, I had to dig the passports out to check myself 😅 Our passports are actually rarely physically stamped in the US, and there's no Dublin stamp either. But i imagine it would have been a US immigration stamp if there was one
How was the carry on with Masks ?
It is what it is. We were surprised to see Aer Lingus implementing them, but we had masks with us anyway just in case. Apparently they were only a couple of days away from getting rid of them so we were just unlucky. Not the end of the world though!

Nice vid guys, like the idea of a Dublin flight for future vacations,we stayed @cabana in November 2weeks did the whole universal vacation, outstanding hotel and universal are seriously on point with transportation and how the go about things, due back out in September 2023 to complete the parks with seaworld/busch/aqua/disc cove. 🙏🫶🏽🇺🇸🏴
Yeah the Universal buses are so frequent, we never waited, great service. Fantastic hotel and we'll definitely be going back 👍 sounds like a great trip in September! Thankyou for watching 😊
@@WizardsAndWalt just a quick question tho both, what was the total time from leaving the hotel in London to arriving in mco please, how long does it add to your normal Heathrow to mco travel day please? And is it cheaper please,if so how much roughly can it save please?…. 👏🏼👍🏽🇺🇸🏴
@@wesdavies2455 Our flight from Gatwick to Dublin was at 9.25 and we got there before 11am. Our flight from Dublin to Orlando was at 14.50, so that's almost a 4 hour layover which was a little long but we didn't mind as it was our first time. Landed in Orlando at 19.00 local time, but no immigration to do so we were straight out the terminal. Savings completely vary but on this occasion it saved us a couple of hundred pound 👍
