Ronny just showed himself to be such a man.

Some smashing ideas and great to see you involving your daughter from a young age. Sometimes it's hard work but the rewards when they discover something new to them is utterly fantastic! 😊
Tip on the shower/tap/water saving. Get 20mm copper screw on cap for tap fitting and drill ~2 holes for tap and ~3 holes for showerhead, 2mm in size and countersink the hole slightly to give it a spray pattern. You will notice your pump will not run at full pressure but still give you that required pressure for rinse. Experiment a little with different hole size and spacing for what you need. Happy showering!
Friends of ours introduced us to Jimmy's Thunderbox which folds up quite flat. One of the advantages of it is that if it is set up on sandy soil, we can put a board either side for it to sit on & not cave the sides of the hole in. In mixed company we erect a shower tent over it for privacy.
those toilet seats are a godsend my wife and i have both had knee replacements squatting is out of the questioni carry 2 strips of plywood sit the feet on so they don't sink into the sand that can lead to a messy situation. great work thanks
Really good video. One thing I would add is when you are setting up for the first time with new gear , do it close to home where if there is a problem with the kit or it doesn’t work as you expected, then you are not in a critical situation. We have just got a new tent and some other new kit so we will have a couple of “shake down” weekends to get used to the kit and sort out any problems before our longer remote trip in a couple of months time.

Ronny you need to suss out jimmys thunder box for a toilet. Way better than that, its galvanised sheet with hinges and it folds flat with a wooden seat, comes in a hessian bag. unfolds square so lots of surface area for stability. Best thing I own for camping I reckon haha
Have you done a 4WD laundromat? Assuming you have water available, you put your dirty clothes into a big screw-top jug, or even into your orange dry bag, with water and washing soap, and stick it as far back on your rig as you can. The bouncing of the track agitates the laundry; the farther back, the more bouncing. At lunch drain it, put fresh rinse water in, and repeat the process. Hang the clothes when you get to camp to dry them. It definitely beats opening a ripe bag of unwashed, fermenting nasties after the trip.

Ronny, in an austere environment with limited resources (like water, hot water and cleaning supplies) what do you recommend for maintaining proper hygiene with regards to food prep and clean up.
There’s a few different ways, depending on how many people are in your group, if you’ve got more than 5 people with you then the 3 bowl method is quite Efficient, the first bowl is just clean non drinking water and is used to remove most of the food waste, the second bowl is water and washing up liquid or dilute non scented bleach, that’s used to disinfect the cookware, the third is clean water and that is used to rinse everything. If you’ve only got a small group then just washing everything in one bowl and rinse everything after.
We have a "3 times" rule. If i go camping 3 times in a row and don't use an item i remove it from my camping kit (within reason). Makes it easier to go camping when there's only 3 or 4 boxes to load and your off. You will be surprised by the amount of "essentials" you never use.

Hi Ronny, the wire mesh item that you used is a Braai Grid as we back in South Africa would call it or y=in your case a BBQ Grid. Great video, love the channel. Have you considered using the Kings Adventure Swag range as they have the vents at both the head & feet area's that is open with a canopy just for the rain?
You can do laundry in that same dry bag you store your dirty clothes in. Just fill about 1/3 of the bag with clothes, add water and dot of soap. Catch some air in the bag, and then roll down a bit and clip closed. Shake it, roll it, beat it, massage it to agitate the clothes. Drain, rinse repeat until soap is gone. Hang clothes to dry. And Bob's your uncle!

You should probably have an EPIRB in case something seriously bad happens, even 4wd camping AMSA will find you and the battery life is good for 10 years.

Very useful and nice setup. You give me inspiration. One thing i might is to always carry a fire extinguisher. Better to have it and not need it.

A Common reason for the oil sprayers breaking is olive oil(too thick), I've had mine for 5 years now, only bran oil goes in it.
