High Tatras are truly very beautiful and one of a kind, but there are a lot of other places in Slovakia, where you can touch the real wilderness and enjoy the mountains and the last mountain virgin forests in Europe. For your next trips I highly recommend to visit Great Fatra National Park (especially its limestone part with Ostrá and Tlstá peaks) and limestone part of Low Tatras (especially Ohnište and Krakova hoľa Mnts. from Jánska dolina valley).
The Slovak Paradise is also a great place to go to. If you like scenery you should most definitely go to Lomnický Štít in Slovakia. Fun fact Slovakia has the highest amount of castles and chateau in the world per km square, most of them are open to the public. There is a lot to see in Slovakia...
Been here more than a decade ago with my ex-gf from Slovakia and the Low Tatras are absolutely beautiful. Now, after a decade and some years my mate and I are going to the High Tatras and on the Polish side.
I can so relate to finding peace up there and realising how small we are in this world. That's exactly what's on my mind when hiking. Btw I really like the way your rolled the R when you said Poprad :) and I also find it cool in a way that you can fly from London to that valley below (13:32) and it only takes 2.5 hours. Poprad Airport is so underrated.
When you come to the mountain lake at 4:23 I couldn't help but notice the mountain in the top, just off centerline to the right. It looks there's a huge slit in the rock, maybe a narrow canyon. And there's a large stream issuing from the bottom of the slit/canyon. Or maybe tha's snow. Not sure but it looks interesting.
@@RE-ez9kv First one was Kôprovsky štít, great hike with the biggest lake in High Tatras: Hincove pleso on the way up to the peak. The second steap hike was not real peak, but the sedle Ostrva. I think there from he continued to Batizovske pleso (lake) from where You could get down to the valley and come back to starting point by local tram...
Thanks! I stayed in a cabin at Popradské pleso and started all the hikes from there and ended them there too. The colours of the trails im not sure of though!
great video man, really enjoyed it... I'll be going to the tatra mountain range too, this summer, and don't even know where to start hahah it's a massive area and i bet that most of it is incredible
I am glad you are enjoying our mountains, just a heads up, that lesser know path you took is national reserve for fauna and flora, forbidden to walk through, just the sign wasn't in english.
@@Tristandewet Hi Tristan, nice video, I am glad You enjoyed slovaks mountains. As several watcher has mention- there are several other unique national parks in Slovakia which are worth to visit... But be carefull to not enter forbiden areas where is not marked trail and where is the sign: Forbiden area. There are mountain rangers protecting this areas and You could get a fine for entering (:
The landscapes and colors are out of this world. Thank you for sharing :)
Thanks 😊
I have goosebump just watching it... I love our Tatra mountaint... so happy you like it too :)

yeah that's snow in the background :) The location he's at is called Žabie Pleso (Frog's Lake)
You was at the trail alone because as the sign at beginning says entrance is prohibited, tourists are not allowed there to protect the nature
Wow okay thanks for pointing that out!
@@Tristandewet Do you mind sharing the names of the last two hikes or which peaks they were? Sorry if you did mention it I missed it.

It's annoying that this sign is in Slovak, German and Hungarian but not in English. Slovak/English sign would be a better option
nice😮
Thanks 😊
❤❤❤
How can i start from 'Stary Smokovec' to get there? Could you please give me any trip plan & alongwith the information about hostel in the mountain.
Where do you wanna go?
You can take a train from Starý Smokovec to Štrbské Pleso lake and from there you can hike up to Rysy. I've done that hike a few times :)
@@vkdrk Thanks for the tip!
👍🏻❤
🙏🏼
On what month have you visited this place?
@@travel_show July 👌🏼
@@Tristandewet have you tried to hike to velke hincovo pleso lake?
They are not Slovakian mountains. They are Slovak mountains. There is no such word Slovakian. Slovak mountains, Slovak cities, Slovak people etc.
Thanks for letting me know ill keep that in mind for the future 👍
🤦♀️ the only thing that spoils Slovakia is its people
😮❤❤❤.I love it.

And part of Rysy belongs to Poland and definitely the lakes are on Polish side.
