It really warms my heart to see African Americans on African soil. One of my dreams when I go back to my home country (Zimbabwe) is to found an organisation that helps AA's visit and relocate to the African country of their choosing. I really feel we as Africans should be taking a more active role in facilitating this.

Term correction....Europeans did not take slaves they took the black "PEOPLE", & made them slaves. This means alot!

I do agree with you about that. Thats the side that no one talks about. In African countries today, we have forms of servitude but no one is abused to the horrific levels that happened in America. What africans are guilty of is trusting that complete strangers would not abuse their people.
Today, we still have the habit of trusting outsiders. I'm not against white people coming but we need some levels of self respect to earn it back.
Another things i see is We need to be careful about our servitude culture, maybe we should get rid of it altogether and treat everyone with the respect that is due. I know a lot of our people are nice and welcoming which is a good thing but some have a low self esteem especially in regard to foreigners. They accept anything from foreigners as perfect yet we don't have basic trust in each other.

Not true some of the people taken to the new world were already slaves from other tribes who were captured and resold know your history many were not already free, there were plenty of tribal wars happening in Africa whilst slavery was taking place.....kings sold people for weapons and to gain land...

      @U Scared? I'II Say It!
      You are absolutely correct!!!!!
The troll 'Thann Ju' is here trying to deflect from the fact the Europeans and America travelled across the globe to kidnap people to make them work for free...FOR CENTURIES.

When in Nigeria, try and visit the Badagry slave port in Badagry Lagos state and the Calabar slave port in Cross River state. Only problem is that Nigeria is a very huge country to travel around in. Like the USA traveling from one state to another involves a lot of hours especially by road but by air it’s a couple of minutes and virtually every state in Nigeria has an airport. And unlike the USA, Nigeria has only one time zone but different weather patterns from state to state. Other places of interest to visit in Nigeria are: The Oshogbo sacred forests or groves in Osun state. The art galleries and the Ooni’s palace all in Ife also in Osun state. The art shops and galleries, the great Benin moths or walls and possibly the Oba or king’s palace all in Benin City in Edo state. Nigeria is the greatest country on earth and you will find out that for your self. The happiest and most friendly people anywhere on earth. Do get a good and trusted guide like you do always to take you around. Nigeria also has the good, the bad and the ugly. Not to worry, they love to entertain strangers and lavishly too. One last thing though, avoid the North and particularly the North East for now due to the activities of Boko Haram. I’m giving you all of these information because I’ve been following your videos on Africa and love what you’re doing. You’re gonna have your best experience ever in Nigeria trust me on that. Peace and love brother!

I finally know where my ancestors are from. I plan to go visit. I cried when I saw this. This is where the Haitians are from. Voodoo is very popular among us and catholic. I don’t do voodoo. I know family members that practice it. Sad news is that I don’t know my family over there. I have a French last name. I wish my ancestors pass down our history and told us our last name so we can go back and know our family and not loss our identity. I’m coming back to my roots. Praise be to God. The roots is a movie.

You know, I'm traveling the world and it's been an incredible journey but I understand that I Must return to Africa one day. I need to do it for myself and for my ancestors. The psychological, emotional and spiritual devastation of The Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade continues to echo through time. On my travels from the Caribbean to the U.S. to South and Central America, it's wonderful to encounter evidence that our legacy survives. Although stripped from our languages, religion and the Drum, we are resilient but we definitely need to reconnect with the land that our ancestors were taken from.
I'm going to watch the rest of your videos and check out your websites. Thanks for responding and be blessed.

There is a place in Badagry. The chains were really very heavy. Our people were fighting tribal wars and captured people from other tribes but we never mistreated captives like the slave masters did. They were proving their superiority over each other. The Portuguese were the first to trade with our ancestors and our people were inauspicious. It was the English people that wrecked havoc because they came for our resources including human resources. They enslaved our people took some out bought over captured our lands. Today in the UK this is not taught in schools. I think it is high time all Africans no matter where they are to have one voice. Let's put our heads together and build our continent.

Who built it? When was it built? The ancestors did not go through it. And who chose to name it the Door of No Return? Where did they get the idea from? How did they know they would not return?

There so much truth that was hidden to the world to know because of Europeans Christianity which was at the bottom of all these atrocities. The old structure they used, I have seen it was destroyed over time, a small castle built there...

The people, humans. Humans who were captured sold, enslaved. Not slaves. Enslaved humans. Humans are humans not slaves.
Different tribes fought against each other, captured each other then sold their captives (for guns, canyons, gold etc)😥 to be enslaved in the Americas/Caribbean #history

Search of Uhuru, What do you mean that Ouidah is not Judah!! Come on man, do your research. Wydah, Ouidah is the French term that means Judah. Just look in Wikipedia. Just as "masa" is not a corruption of the word master but is indeed a Hebrew word meaning oppressor or burden. Africans did not sell Africans, they sold Hebrews. When my people gonna wake up!! We are the people of the Bible, the nation of Israel.

We are Hebrew Israelites!!! Deuteronomy 28 15-68!!
Genesis 15:13- And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years.
Deuteronomy 28:64 - And the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood (Christianity Cross) and stone. (Kaaba Cube)
1 Maccabees 3:48 - “And laid open the book of the law, wherein the heathen had sought to paint the likeness of their images.”
1 Maccabees 3:41 - A force from Idumea and Philistia joined them. The merchants of the region heard about the strength of the army, and they came to the camp with chains and a large amount of money, hoping to buy some Jewish slaves.
Joel 3:6 -The children also of Judah and the children of Jerusalem have ye sold unto the Grecians, that ye might remove them far from their border.
Baruch 4:6: Ye were sold to the nations, not for your destruction: but because ye moved God to wrath, ye were delivered unto the enemies.
Baruch 4:15: For he hath brought a nation upon them from far, a shameless nation, and of a strange language, who neither reverenced old man, nor pitied child.
Luke 21:24 - And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
Psalm 83:4 - They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
Jeremiah 5:19 - And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore doeth the LORD our God all these things unto us? then shalt thou answer them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and served strange gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land that is not yours.
Jeremiah 17:4 - And thou, even thyself, shalt discontinue from thine heritage that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou knowest not: for ye have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn for ever.
Revelation 2:9- I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
Baruch 2:30-35: For I knew that they would not hear me, because it is a stiffnecked people: but in the land of their captivities they shall remember themselves. And shall know that I am the Lord their God: for I will give them an heart, and ears to hear: And they shall praise me in the land of their captivity, and think upon my name. And return from their stiff neck, and from their wicked deeds: for they shall remember the way of their fathers, which sinned before the Lord. And I will bring them again into the land which I promised with an oath unto their fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and they shall be lords of it: and I will increase them, and they shall not be diminished. And I will make an everlasting covenant with them to be their God, and they shall be my people: and I will no more drive my people of Israel out of the land that I have given them.
