- My nephew sent some great shots of Asphalt Milling in downtown Calgary. They are a well coordinated team for sure! Lots of activity!

@@markparr6947…if this is a Municipal job, which it looks like, it’ll have been tendered and part of that process usually involves Unionized workers who get paid by the hour. It’s quite possible that this outfit would do this work on a consistent basis for the City. Anyone who’d come in a lot cheaper wouldn’t have the equipment or manpower this company is using. It’s a nice operation to watch though.
Dude on the skid steer is worth twice what he's making.
Asphalt milling machinery is currently parked in my street ready to get to work early tomorrow morning, I planned on sleeping in but i expect to be woken up by my walls shaking lol

What are those two large tubes that drape down from the conveyor to the body at the front?
Vacuum. Dust from the milling drum and conveyors inside the machine gets sucked in, sprayed with water and dropped on the conveyor that loads the trucks.
They are a part of the dust vacuum system, pulls dust from the drum housing and puts the dust into the conveyor
in my place, we have a miller twice this size...but super slow....and the surface are not as smooth as in the video...maybe because of the operator skills
Nothing worse than changing all those damn teeth everyone works smooth together skid steer guy was good so was the guy on the baby milling machine
