Luke 2:36-38 There was also a prophet, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old; she had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage, and then was a widow until she was eighty-four.[*] She never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying. no it's not. no mention of flash flood in this story: Judges 4:10-16 Tree of Life Version 10 Then Barak summoned Zebulun and Naphtali together to Kedesh, and 10,000 men marched up after him, and Deborah went up with him. 11 Now Heber the Kenite had separated himself from the Kenites, from the children of Hobab the father-in-law of Moses, and had pitched his tent as far as the oak in Zaanannim, which is near Kedesh. 12 They told Sisera that Barak son of Abinoam had gone up to Mount Tabor. 13 So Sisera ordered all his chariots-900 iron chariots-and all the troops that were with him, from Harosheth-ha-goyim to the Kishon. 14 Then Deborah said to Barak, “Arise! For this is the day in which Adonai will deliver Sisera into your hand. Has Adonai not gone out before you?” So Barak came down from Mount Tabor with 10,000 men following him. 15 Adonai threw Sisera and all his chariots and all his army into confusion before Barak with the edge of the sword. Then Sisera got down from his chariot and fled away on foot. 16 But Barak pursued the chariots and the army as far as Harosheth-ha-goyim. The whole army of Sisera fell by the sword; not one was left.

This bit of Jewish History demonstrates the possible reasoning behind the reluctance to accept any other God (first commandment) other than the original Invisible God of the Old Testament. Praying to statues or praying in places where images of god/gods exist, may be perceived as Old Testament idolatry.
I was awe by the woman who spoke The NIV Book of Esther that Zondervon produce when they did 1980 or early 90's. It was actually so beautiful. I not feeling it here but the history is informative And maybe I am not blow away as That Woman speaking was one of kind. But definitely school me on the back story of Deborah's Song.
I normally enjoy these, but there are so many errors I can't get past in this. First, Israel wasn't authorized to choose a prophet. No human (male or female) has the authority to choose a legit prophet. Only God does. Anyone who wants to challenge Him on that can do so at their own risk. Second, Deborah was the only female judge; but Scripture has named anywhere from four up to nine female prophets (depending on one's definition of the word). Last, Scripture doesn't promote or denounce women. It doesn't progress or regress. It doesn't change. Scripture is inspired by the Spirit of God. We're like specks of dust in the grand scheme. What's one speck over another? Just because He cares about dust doesn't change what we are. I like Deborah. She was protective, fair, brave, and stepped up when a seasoned general wouldn't. But that doesn't imply anything else. The flavour of this message is unscriptural but I still like this channel. Usually, it's spot on. And everyone has off days.
@MaryDunford - 100% correct: "Israel wasn't authorized to choose a prophet. No human (male or female) has the authority to choose a legit prophet. Only God does. Anyone who wants to challenge Him on that can do so at their own risk.". Well said!
You are correct that the people did not choose a prophet. Judges were another matter. There are seven female prophets mentioned by name in scripture: Sarah, Miriam, Dvorah, Hannah, Avigayil, Hulda, and Esther. But all of the people at the revelation at Sinai heard the first two commandments each one individually. There are therefore many prophets who were never mentioned in Hebrew scripture.
We are all born with human error, you condemn a great effort to explain the importance of “God goes before the Armies of Israel” and to him goes the Glory . May the church unite not divide in doctrine.

Why do you bing in color? Does Jehovah declare Deborah to be black? Who cares... This is why we have so much division and confusion in the world. The Lord does not separate the colors of the rainbow, which all come from one source, the Light of God, the Messiah of the Lord God, who brings light into the hearts of men. Deborah delicates much of her closing statement and testimony to the importance of leadership and unity. Enough screaming black, white, yellow, brown, pale, pink, and invisible.
