Me too. Seven helicopters parade over my house & made a u-turn back to Merdeka Square. The same thing happened 2 days earlier during the rehearsal. You need a strong determination to brave the crowds to be there. Thank you for the video. Enjoy your time in Malaysia.

in 2019 we had the merdeka parade in Putrajaya, where the space is much bigger and thus less crowded. Kuala Lumpur is becoming too compact to acomodate the thousands of crowd attending this event.
Of course the first national day parade in two years of it being non existent had to be in the original place where it all started... Next year I think, it would be back in Putrajaya.

LOL "original place" is wayyy too small. the historical value of the place means nothing if it's irrelevant to held such event anymore. Putrajaya have massive roads and a non crowded city. perfect for a parade. KL can't handle this anymore

It attracts crowds because the network of highways and LRT/MRT/KTM and busses are all well connected and it is the most convenient place for all the citizens in kelang valley to come to. What’s wrong with large crowds for these events? KL on a whole is so much better than Putrajaya.

Merdeka Square is the place where the Independence took place in 1957. To relive the moment over 60 years ago on the same spot is memorable.
I have always preferred the parade to be at KL. Dataran Merdeka is where it all started!
