Out of all the Hololive Idol covers, Hakka's version (even idol covers in general) is probably the best one ive ever heard. If I remember correctly, I think he did all the vocals (even the choir parts) which is honestly insane. The range this man has is actually insane
Hakka is the most different cover out of all of these becasue of how unique his voice is, it was really enjoyable, although i like Kanata's cover the most, she also did all the choir parts, and she did them so well, it was super ominous.
My favourites are honestly Hakka's, Kanata's and Calli's, they are all very different. I honestly really want a Suisei cover, she is perfect for this song
Kanata’s cover actually had English subs translated by herself! Also Idol is a song where the true meaning really only comes through when you’ve watch at least the first episode of the anime. You were right when you mentioned that the lyrics were dark in contrast to the song’s energy. Of course everyone had great covers too!
IRyS's cover is almost exclusively Vtuber Idol focused, with the Internet chatbox near the beginning, and the Hololive main stage in the chorus. Probably has been for most of the covers, but hers stood out to me the most from what I've heard.
In some ways I'd say not reading the lyrics is perhaps for the best, before watching the show. Also, the show's last episode comes out in a week, and I highly recommend watching it. I look forward to the reactions.
the problem I find with these covers is that they are just that, the original is so amazing the covers can't even compare, the song is "for the anime" in every single line of it and so is the ending.
I’d argue Mephisto is a way more coverable song than Idol. While Idol is very specifically about Ai, down to just saying her name and the names of her kids, Mephisto has a bit more separation to it.
@@CTOONfan1 from my understanding Mephisto is mostly aqua focused so I don't know, then again it is not that hard as Idol so maybe it can do great as a cover.

Not sure if anyone said it, but Calli had specifically said that the English version is a bit Yabai, so even she chooses to cover it in Japanese.
