👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Well done! About bloody time!
I recently had an ECG in a & e, a very nice nurse came in & asked if I minded him doing it or a lady. I said no problem, you can do it, but I do appreciate you asking. He then told me that he wouldn’t have even asked if I were a much younger woman or a victim of violence by men.
He told me he didn’t ever want to make a woman uncomfortable.
Remember Scotland’s MALE period dignity role? 😤 I can talk about all things primary age biology, puberty, se* education & periods as easily as I talk about the weather, because I teach it! I teach periods to boys & girls separately, why? Dignity! Boy & girls have very different questions and the depth of knowledge they need. I always talk about the dignity aspect and that in some places, including some people here in the UK treat women menstruating as being toxic, they can’t go into the home, can’t touch food, need separate crockery & cutlery. I’ve yet to come across a 10/11 year old boy who doesn’t think that’s disgusting treatment of women & girls. You can see the penny dropping as they think about their mum, aunt, grandma etc cooking at home & that at some time they must have had their period while cooking and they will exclaim ‘that’s rubbish, my mum cooks for us & we’re not de*d, I know she’s on her period because blah blah’
Sometimes the blah will be things like my dad says it’s better I just go upstairs and keep quiet because she’s on here period, often called the old fashioned euphemisms 😂
I’ve seen boys so kind to girls in their class, they see a girl looking uncomfortable and holding her tummy…they jump into action, you sit down, I’ll put your books away or offers of should the come find me, I was the teacher for all things periods when I taught full time. Or they’d hear a girl crying in the toilets, they’d call out to ask if she was ok, I’ve seen & others have of boys walking into the girls toilet area backwards covering their eyes but only going to the point they couldn’t see cubicle doors, bless them 🥰 Calls of ‘do you need some ladies’ things? I’ll go get some for you. Always cracked me up when they’d appear with some saying I didn’t know what flavour you wanted 😂
I always bought a selection, encouraging girls to try a variety instead of trying a new pack at home that just weren’t the brand for them. They were also told many, many times including the boys that if they needed to take a pack home they could. I’ve had a few boys over the years come ask if it was ok to take some for their big sister, usually told with a sad story of often dad who refused to buy them 😤
If I’m in town & not too much pain I like to buy a few packs and leave them on the sink area with a post it not to say if you need them, take them.
Imagine if every man & woman did that once a year.
I remember at high school I bought a lot of pads from the office, I had plenty at home, it was for girls who didn’t have pocket money to buy one from the office.
I’m disgusted by it, having to queue up with boys too and ask to buy one, to be handed it, not the ones in packets, these were the cheap house brick sized type. What dignity did they have? 😤
Boys at 10/11 having more consideration about going into girls’ loos than adults!
    Sanity returns!

Meanwhile........Six trustees of a nationwide breastfeeding support group have been suspended for demanding that biological men be excluded from their services.
The British wing of La Leche League , which gives mother-to-mother support to those finding it hard to breastfeed, has been told by its US-based board of directors that the service cannot be single sex and they must support “male lactation”.
They were also told that the use of the term “mother” could be a “roadblock”, and that questioning gender ideology was “harmful”.
The suspended trustees have now complained to the Charity Commission, saying the charity’s demand that trans women were admitted was against UK law because single-sex places are protected.

i still find it weird that any transwoman care giver (Dr/nurse/healthcare assistant) might use this particular use case scenario to claim their individual right to be a considered a woman - whatever the merits of that claim wrt to the wider debate. Trans Women in Womens Sports may be one thing, Transwomen in Changing Rooms another, but transwomen as intimate care givers - why would that be a part of the battle for TransRights ?? - If indeed it is. ( nu-trans-rights might be a better term to differentiate old skool vs nu-skool Trans people and lobbies)

Ignoring care requests on basis of sex is akin to sexual assault. Its beyond disrespectful, its dissmisive and vile , and just to appease a small minority of mainly men. Nasty and its about time OUR feelings as women were considered .
Dignity, modesty, decency and respect have been chucked overboard for an ideology thats built on, for the most part, male fetish. As a nurse myself, i would not t olerate being treated by a bloke if i asked not be, thankyou.

Or if you have, investing/campaigning for better care for vulnerable elderly women. Or if you have, standing up publicly for schoolgirls who don’t want to share locker rooms with boys and risking your career and reputation to do so. Or standing up for female officer only intimate searches from
Police or female only staff conducting intimate examinations in hospitals. Or if you do, campaigning against fgm in African countries. Or if you have, stopping child marriages. Or if you have, preventing known male sx offenders from doing time in female prisons.

@@allowit328Yes. And? She isn't there to speak on other issues. She is there to talk about what Sex Matters was set up to combat in all walks of life. The NHS has billions of pounds to fund it. Too much is spent on things like DEI, unconscious bias training, and gender identity compliance (mainly to the erasure of women and girls in quintisentual female issues).
The amount of money spent on executive and management levels are eye watering. Allegedly paying well will get the best. How is it that the NHS is such a mess? Piece meal privatisation; failure to negotiate favourable contracts; paying up front for services that fail to materialise; paying for medical and dental in other countries only to have to provide after care and corrections for poor outcomes and complications.
