The original purpose of tithing in The Bible were for the Levitical priests so that they would be able to focus on their God-given tasks. The people would bring a tenth so that they would not go without the things they needed. In the book of Malachi, it talks about how the priests and the Israelites were sinning and not reverencing The Lord they way they should. Once the church is established in the new testament, there was no law that required us to tithe. Tithing and giving to the church is perfectly fine to do as long as you don’t feel forced or compelled to do so. Also, tithing does not guarantee that you’ll receive a “blessing” as we are already blessed and God has already decided what our ENTIRE lives will look like. I’m no scholar. What is it you think pastors are in the present day and other workers who labour in the house of God? God does promise blessings for tithing and offering but blessings does not = money. It is greater than money. Could it include money sure but there are verses such as "I will bless the opening of your hands" that address money and prosperity. To say God does not bless tithing is just false. I think you should consider discipleship or getting plugged into a local church I promise there is a lot you can learn and then teach.
@@beccamakela2014 so i can i only get blessed from God if I tithe? if you're giving to get blessed that's not right, you should give ofc but that could be anywhere and anything it doesn't have to mean you're giving away money, and if you don't get anything back you should still be content w God. God doesn't promise us an easy-go life but we can rejoice in the fact that this is not our home we have heaven to look forward to. but I can also live my life here w freedom here because what? God is good, period. also giving could be giving away to the homeless, helping a fatherless child, blessing a single a mother etc when you tithe it should be to your church and it should be to help the church w expenses and spreading the gospel
@girlnamedesther and your point exactly is? Because I don't disagree from Exodus to Revelation giving whether at church as well as to the poor is blessed and in most cases required by God's law. I disagree with the video's premise that says "God does not promise blessings for tithing" Mal 3 refutes that a slew of verses in the Bible refutes that as well. Again does blessings= money no, it is much more Joseph was highly favored and blessed while he was in prison but he had to live through deep emotional pain even after he became the minister of Egypt. God showed his goodness in ALL circumstances, I'm not saying tithe to get a car or etc but to say God does not promise blessings for tithing is JUST WRONG.
Once you realize your life is not yours, then you’ll step back and let God fill your joy spiritually and not though worldly things because he already knows you heart and your passions. He will do all things according to HIS will, not OURS. God is more than willing to give us what we want as long as it aligns with God.
