Tim, make sure you add a connection point to the rear of your trailer to connect to. then add the snatch block to the coach, and the winch hook to the trailer, so that if the winch hook does break it gose flying towards the winched vehicle rather than towards your head. connecting a winch hook anywhere on the flatbed, or on the coach allows it to break and fly in any direction without warning. not to mention use the winch where it doubles the pulling power, not just controlling direction of the pull. so adding it to the coach allows safety of a stronger hook, and also allows you to double the pulling power. when the winch hook is connected to the rear of your trailer. but yes, please take some safety classes on winching.
Tim needs a winch safety class. I don't think he understands that if something snaps that hook can go thru his cab, not to mention his head or that guy who was walking over the rope when it was pulling that bus on. What the hell are you thinking, man!
Should get yourself a little pre visit questionnaire sorted out Tim to send out to customers - I did for my site visits and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself ! 🏁 👍
@@bradmotleycrue Great idea. If Tim had known what it would take to shift that bus, he could've arrived better prepared or declined the job. He said he thought the winch would burn out and I'm surprised it didn't but I hope he has a new one ready to go on when that one finally gives up and dies.
Another awesome video, Tim. It’s great to see Mrs. TT on camera. You did an incredible job with your winch-out, I didn’t think your winch could handle it, but you managed to get it on your trailer. Keep up the great work!
Great content Tim as many people have said you need to stand well clear of the winch in case it snaps also get your chuckle brother to show you how to screw the brakes off it would have made it easier to pull the solo bus onto your low loader 👍
" I love trucking " Google not the nine o'clock news they did a funny sketch singing it . Started Rowan Atkinson and others. 😂 Always a pleasure to watch your videos.
Great to see the R working still looks brilliant in the dark with all the lights on. Great to see you doing some work with all the loads your now getting soon you have to higher another driver you be that busy.
Tim add some work lights to the top of the cab at the rear so they shine on the bed of the trailer for loading hide them between the cab top and air kit
There are screws on the back of the break cylinders to manually unlock the park brake. don't know if you would have been able to reach but it may be worth knowing for the future..
Nother Good video Tim. I've got a snatch block you can have when I passing ill drop it in. Also a Head torch is always useful this time of year. Keep up the hard work
You should use jumper cables on the battery terminals on the bus just to start the engine to build up air pressure. And the only one thing do not turn off the engine until you can get the bus on your trailer. And it's the same way getting it off the trailer, without using any batteries on the bus. Just to jump started the engine and build up air pressure
Get out the way of the winch rope and keep all people also out the way if that snaps is coming your way🙈 bet Shaun has stuff to say about it, also get the radio remote fitted asap makes life so much easier and safe 👍
Hi Tim, I am a relatively new viewer and my god I am hooked, love your V8 truck, I am slowly getting through all your previous vlogs and thoroughly enjoying all your content, they are extremely entertaining, I have seen you a few times when we have been out and about this summer, keep up the great work you are doing 👍👍
25:34 there's only wingnuts holding those lights on, just undo them and remove the lights, putting the bar down can restirct the space behind the dumper.
I hope there'll be some of the 1:50 models come on sale after the preorder lot is delivered (if you ordered a few more), or that there'll be a second batch. Only started to appreciate 1:50 after seeing the WSI booth at Assen this year
Brilliant Tim well done a bit stressful I think you should invest in a new winch it did it that all ways looks sketchy loading up hope you got good insurance 😂😂 bet it's not cheap . Brilliant job . I don't live far from Oxford moreton in marsh gloustershire . Look forward to next video
Tim come to New Zealand and check out our b trains and truck and trailer units, (similar to the long combinations in holland you froth over) i wheel a scania r590 on a 9 axle truck and trailer unit on a 50ton gvm permit! Also tilt your lightbars up slightly they should light up a couple hundred meters of road not just the tarmac under your nose
You also need work lights and some high vis to stay safe, not good at side of road at night no lights and in dark clothes, just thinking of you and staying safe things can go wrong at best of times and every one wants you home safe bud 👍
I've driven Optate Solos, some came with Cummins, was a quick bus but not the best at swinging round with front wheels at the front rather than behind the driver haha
Tim have a chat with Shaun about off set winch pulling, he should know whats what. Your using a synthetic rope through your trailer side cleets, not good best way to wear out a good rope in a short time. Also stop wrapping the rope around items and hooking back onto itself, get a 2t endless sling (14t break) to make the connection and hook to that. Finally if you must use your show truck for work, please change the blue beacons for amber ones, sure fired way of VOSA come knocking for using blue lights on a road. You know they watch your posts.
Or how about white beacons to tie in with his other colour? White beacons don't carry any meaning in the highway code so they wouldn't be blatantly illegal like the blue ones
Hey Trucker Tim I think that you get Shawn too teach you how too winch cars, lorries or vans onto your trailer safely because the rope could snap and come flying at you and don't let anyone walk over the rope when you are winching that is very dangerous too.
What about running deck lights in the centre of the trailer.... And a head ache rack...which could be removed.... Better than risking it for a BISCUIT....
Couple of tips bud, you want the winch as close to the causality vehicle so have the ramps pretty much touching the rear wheels, second never stand directly next to a winch line metal or synthetic, plus keep the vehicle running that window don't kill the battery and instead of winching on 24v your winch on 28v (ain't much but it'll stop it from sounding like it's about to cut out) but otherwise tbh I've seen seasoned drivers do worse
Shaun Lombardo should do a reaction video to this. I imagine he’s wincing watching this, I am and I’m not a recovery expert 😂
Stick a couple of working lights facing backwards on the top bar at the back....
Tim you need to stop standing next to that winch line in case is snaps.
Was flinching 😂@@eddshotorwot7062
He’s lucky the cable didn’t snap running it through the lashing ring. Don’t ask me how I know 😂
Going to be worse when he gets the snatch block! Be careful Tim!!
I've never used a winch and it was even making me wince
keep using it like that and it will snap the cable!! Or burn the motor out.

It is indeed an Optare Solo, you're correct!
lol yeah
An Optare Solo, not one of the best buses of its time.

I was waiting for the winch to break, the line to snap and take someone out. So dangerous 😳😳
It is isn’t it. And the fact they were just walking over a tense winch making that noise is so dangerous. It could kill them all SOOOOO easily🙄😬😑😳

Crazy vid and off temp as well is crazy great video Tim keep it up once again❤❤❤🎉🎉
I was waiting to see smoke and sparks coming out of that winch. But she did you proud. Looking forward to your next great video. Keep on Truckin' Tim!
That top spoke of the steering wheel in the R Series sitting straight up would drive me insane!
Tim, I was pulling the Parcelforce trailer round Buckden. Vosa pulled a Polish truck just after you went past them. Lucky. 😂

I love the wordplay in the title, your first Optare Solo and your first Solo winch job 🤣
Where's ya high Viz jacket in the pitch black dark
The bus tail lights model remind me of early 1990 buses, somehow also remind me my childhood. Nowdays we got LED and Neonflex on everything
Great work Tim ❗ More lights 💡 on your truck than our councils christmas tree 🎄
